Week on Hive
22 of 35 tracked posts made it to this week's issue of the "Week on Hive" roundup.
In the Spotlight
From announcements on the Hive Engine discord server, we found out that this week the SWAP.SOL wrapped token became fully functional on Hive Engine (meaning deposits from and withdrawals to Solana blockchain). Wallets tested for compatibility on TribalDex for deposits and withdrawals are Phantom, Brave, and xDefi. Others may work too, says the announcement, but they haven't been tested.
Also, three SWAP.SOL-based diesel pools have been created:
After 48h, $30k in volume was made across the 3 pools.
Marketing / Awareness / Branding
Another round of businesses have been onboarded to Hive via Distriator with the help of local people in various places. I'm sure I missed many such announcements. When I catch someone's post who onboards a business to Distriator I usually follow them to see their future announcements. That's why my picks may be limited to only a few people, while in fact many more may do it.
This week was even more prolific in bringing new businesses to Hive than the last one, even if often we talk about small local businesses. Often, at the same time, Hive gets a few new signups as well, eager to benefit from Distriator's cashback program.
Instead of linking to a few posts here, I'd rather link to the accounts of people who have onboarded businesses to Distriator during the last 7 days, some multiple times:
@sagarkothari88 also started working on integrating Dash, World Coin, PolkaDot, and Dollar on Chain into Distriator. So far, with the help of @nathansenn, they were able to integrate PolkaDot. Read the details!
Distriator also published a guide with tips on how to successfully onboard a business to accept HBD.
Hive Goes to School project came up with a similar model to Distriator to apply it for paying for students tuition. They describe it here and here.
According to the Inleo AMA, this week the next step in the integration between Dash and Inleo should've taken place, which is the ability of Dash users to pay for Premium or subscriptions using Dash.
In the meantime, the PR campaign continues, as described in this post too. Khal also mentioned X and Brave ads will follow if they haven't started already.
Governance / Development / Dapps / Education
Tests on Ezabay started by inviting certain users to test it and the bugs they found or feedback they had have been taken care of. From this week's update, we also find out that they plan a much wider fiat support than initially, particularly in LATAM, besides Nigeria and Ghana currencies.
Many people agreed with all 3 points, but important stakeholders, including @blocktrades, had a nuanced opinion on the second point and are against the 3rd one.
I invite you to read the proposal (not a DHF proposal!) as well as comments on it. It's much better than trying to summarize it, because I won't be able to.
@reazuliqbal created a very useful portfolio tracker on Hive/Hive-Engine/Splinterlands. It's great that you can add multiple accounts and the portfolio view aggregates the information from all of them and shows you much much your asset represent as a percentage of the whole. It also counts liquidity from diesel pools broken down into the two separate tokens. Check it out!
I found out about it from @cryptoandcoffee, but it was initially announced in discord by @aggroed.
PWR was soft-pegged to HIVE, but will transition to a fully HIVE-backed growth token. In effect, PWR won't be capped to 1 HIVE to the upside going forward, but 1 HIVE will continue to remain the baseline and be supported if the token price drops. Here's the project's tentative roadmap for 2025.

New Promo Card Purchasable with Vouchers
On the maintenance window from next week, a new promo card purchasable with vouchers will be added, we can find from Splinterlands discord.
Quite a few updates from Holozing this week...
First, we have a new Advent Calendar challenge, which gives us daily Holo dust (soulbound), when we claim rewards, and an achievement at the end.
Then, Acid talked about other contents of the vials besides creatures (particularly healing gloves) in this post, asked for suggestions about various combinations that can be made for the generative NFTs that healers will be (here) and is looking for someone to take on some of his management activity for Holozing (here).
Week in the Crypto World
The media attention bitcoin got after reaching 100k apparently reignited retail interest, which, despite the selloff that took place after the price went above 100k, helps prop the price above 98k at the time of writing. This article says, based on an analysis, that retail demand for bitcoin is the highest since 2020.
The direction seems good although I don't know the guy. I also like some of Trump's words, but will they be more than words?
David will focus on making America the clear global leader in both areas. He will safeguard Free Speech online, and steer us away from Big Tech bias and censorship. He will work on a legal framework so the Crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for, and can thrive in the US.

Having swaps to other coins is great to make it easier to get funds in and out of Hive. There's a lot of SWAP coins on H-E. Cheers for all the updates.
Thanks! That's true, there are quite a few SWAP coins. I know the connection to Solana was asked for a long time, so it's good to see it added.
At the end of the day @dalz has made a move as I've not seen a lot of suggestions on how to curb the growing inflation. I think making a move means more people gets to bring more suggestions and we weigh the options of what's actively better for Hive in the long run. Inasmuch as Hive actually needs to spend, it has to spend rightly and this is where the problem comes with the proposals.
From what I know (he may have said in the post too), he made these proposals after talking with others too. So there is some wider support for them. On the other hand, Blocktrades said they have been discussed since Hivefest and some changes are already or will be coded.
The discussion about Hive and the inflation rate was interesting to read. I didn't even know that was going on. I have to think about it a bit more, but I do think that dynamic changes to Hive to be inline projects is fine. I can't make a decision about the DHF and changes there though.
I don't see the discussion between HBD being a form of HIVE and HBD being debt, and thus not to be included in the market cap of HIVE going anywhere productive for the time being.
As for DHF, Blocktrades is right in the sense that generally, you need to spend to be successful. At the same time, we also need to be relatively careful what we spend on and not throw money out the window on the pretext that we need to spend it.
Ethereum has gone up 4000 times so that's pretty good for the altcoin and we'll see it pump a lot more in the next few months.
Yes, it's likely for alts to have a great period at least in the first part of next year.
