HIVE Is On the Move Again

I rarely if ever get the chance to catch a HIVE pump as it happens while I write Week through Adrian's Lenses.

For whoever thought Upbit-initiated pumps time is over because of the potential issues the exchange is facing, this is proof of the contrary.

The action started as usually at midnight UTC, and another push continued this morning between 9 and 10am UTC. Right now is on the way down, but we will see where this leads.

One thing that I remarked differently this time is that it started on a green market (you'll see why in the crypto section), and that HBD wasn't pushed above the peg (or it isn't now), which means there wasn't a big demand for HBD, like it would be if people would sell HIVE to HBD. The second remark may not mean anything if people prefer to trade on CEXes, where HBD doesn't come into play. Or they are waiting for a higher price, thinking the pump isn't over yet.

Details on the BuzzParty 2025 Location in Graz

@reiseamateur presented some details about the location of the Hive Creator Days event/meetup which will be held in Graz at the beginning of May this year, an event I talked about last week and which is probably fully booked by this time, given the limited number of tickets that were still available then, and that they were practically fully sponsored by Value Plan.

Inleo Integrates Earnings and Payments in SPS

After an outward-oriented partnership with DASH, to bring Dash users to Hive, the integration between Splinterlands and Inleo happened, to promote additional use cases for SPS. While the objective of this partnership is inward, because the targeted community is already on Hive for the most part, some of them maybe weren't interested in blogging (or threads, or shorts) before, and with the introduction of potential SPS rewards for these activities, they may be more interested in them, as a way to get more rewards that they can use in Splinterlands.

On the other hand, players with significant SPS rewards or holdings, may be interested in spending them for premium membership or to pay for subscriptions on Inleo.

New Mirrornet

@gtg announced that he shuts down the old mirrornet he provided for Hive and is building a new one. For more information, including for references on what a mirrornet is, this is his post.

Hive Block Explorer Updates

@mcfarhat listed the development work his team has performed recently on the new Hive Block Explorer (created by the Blocktrades team, based on the HAF technology). This block explorer or others like it will most likely be the block explorers of the future on Hive, which don't directly use HiveD APIs, but use instead the HAF database which makes queries, searches, and other actions less resource intensive and quicker than accessing them directly from the blockchain via API services.

Community Beneficiaries on 3Speak Web App

@sagarkothari88 updated the 3Speak web app to include beneficiaries if there is a beneficiary rule set at the community level. That update generated some bugs, which are now fixed.

Hive Trading Event

Six days ago, @anadolu (creator of the CENT tokens, for example), announced a Hive trading event which involves trading HIVE/USDT, HBD, BEED in a number of places he mentions both from the Hive ecosystem and a few CEXes, and taking screenshots of the trades.

I don't know if the event is still ongoing because no deadline was mentioned, but I think it was a good idea, to increase the trading volume of our tokens. Winners he selects receive some TRADE tokens on Hive-Engine. Here are the details.

Waivio Link Objects

This looks like a way to associate a link with a dedicated profile page, which may include a description, community feedback, track safety ratings, etc. Here are the details.

Hive Projects Got Updated

Hive Projects is a directory of apps, sites, tools, or scripts from the Hive ecosystem, which is created and maintained by @engrave witness on a volunteer basis. Here are the new projects added to the list.

How to Install a VSC Node?

With VSC slated to come out this quarter, @louis88 set up his VSC node again and provided a guide for those who are interested to do the same.

Need little helper tools and scripts?

You may be in luck, but it's time sensitive. Louis also has a few days until his Copilot Pro subscription runs out, and wants to make the most of it, but he ran out of ideas. If you need something small like a small tool or script or some data being pulled and possibly interpreted from Hive, he may be able to help.

Holozing Will Have a Physical Collection

@acidyo presented the plan Holozing has for introducing a physical collection, all the benefits of holding physical cards, protections and edge cases they considered and a future Kickstarter campaign likely to happen in Q2.

Splinterlands: All SPS Have Been Minted

As a preparation to move SPS onto the Validator System, all of them needed to be minted. In the latest maintenance, and as a result of a passed proposal, all unminted SPS has been minted, and put either into reward accounts or sent to the SPS DAO's wallet, if it hasn't been allocated yet.

Trump Finally Issued an Executive Order Regarding Crypto

I think the executive order was more of a way to get crypto people of his back, than to have concrete results, immediately. I believe this was to be expected. The executive order creates a working group led by Trump's czar for crypto and AI, and including various Cabinet officials, heads of the SEC and CFTC, and other White House officials, instructed to come out with recommendations on improving crypto regulations rather quickly. They have also been instructed to"evaluate the potential creation and maintenance of a national digital asset stockpile". You can read more in this article.

Circle Launches Paymaster to Allow Users Pay Gas Fees with USDC

My attention was drawn to this piece of news by @taskmaster4450 here. He includes a link to the source article. Like him, I consider this may be an important development for the ease of use in the crypto world, and without ease of use, there is no mass adoption. But I don't know if I like such a solution.

If such a solution (and others like it) catches on, the need to hold gas tokens on every chain you operate on is eliminated. Circle also introduced Gas Station before that, a way for developers / business operators to pay fees for their users. Kind of like RC delegations on Hive, except on Hive it's much better for businesses from this point of view, since they only pay once when they buy HIVE. They may earn it too.

But all that what Circle proposes, comes at a cost of introducing a centralization risk, plus a pretty hefty fee of 10%, after an initial period when Circle waives it to encourage early adoption.

That pretty much shows what Circle is, in fact: a bank. Funny how the crypto world looks more and more like the traditional system.
