I just read recently that alt season can't be defined anymore in terms of money rotating from BTC to alts but through increasing trading activity on alts via stablecoins.

I agree with this. In previous cycles, stablecoins weren't as developed, so people rotated in and out of BTC as a safer option to alts. But moving from alts to stablecoins doesn't remove from the market cap of alts, since stablecoins ARE alts. While moving from BTC to stablecoins, for example, means moving from BTC to alts, even not the volatile kind.

Right. I didn't understand the last part before. It's still moving across the same category of assets. I think maybe there will come a time where stablecoins become a distinct category of asset that's not blended with alts.
