RE: Checking HiveStats.io For My Curation Report

(edited)

Blocktrades explained in a Hive core dev meeting that degrading the max vote value as the voting mana drops was a protection introduced to combat a certain type of voting bots, and that they seem not to be active anymore, and therefore the protection is no longer required. He asked if there is any other concerns about removing it. Nobody said anything at that time. So, at least for a while it seemed to be a change that will come with HF28. Now I'm not sure... Maybe they found a reason why this protection shouldn't be removed.

To answer your question: if this change would be introduced after all, things would work the same way as now, except if, for example, at 100% voting mana you have a 1$ vote value, it would be the same at 50% voting mana, or at 20% voting mana. What it would help with is to consume your voting mana quicker without losing vote value, for example, if you predict that you won't be active on Hive for a couple of days.

Well it's all complicated and sometimes it takes time to understand how these changes would actually work. It's been a long time we've had any HF, and I'll be looking forward to seeing how this one would work. Thanks for taking the time to explain it
