I also remember just about everything that happened on 9/11. I had just got out the USAF and was working my second day as federal worker. That day President Bush landed at the installation I was working at. I still remember the sound of escort fighters and his jet landing. I knew something was going on as they were the only aircraft flying in U.S. air space.
I have given LEO a try but I haven't received anything yet that I'm aware of. I don't know if I could tell myself to pay for the premium membership until I see something first. Now I'm not complaining I think I have only done three or four posts on their frontend. Really too small of a contribution to make a judgement yet.

That must have been weird to see the escorts and Air Force one as the only planes in the air. Not being active duty USAF might have been a good thing at that point. Deployments didn't take long to get started if I recall!
Deployments followed pretty quick but there were still plenty of them prior due the craziness in the middle east. I got out on 10 August so I missed the stop loss they had going on a few months following
