People Panicking With 5% Portfolio Down

People who have come to stock market after Mid 2020 have not seen any major crashes. And most of them have been investing in the small cap because it has given insane returns in last 2 years. But now I am seeing a lot of posts form this young investors that their portfolio is down by 10, 15 or 20% or even more.

They are asking whether to hold or sell as because they don't know what to do in situations like this as they have not seen the real fall till now. As a investor I have seen the Bitcoin Crash, I have seen the stock market crash of 2020 and thus I am big advocate as to have some investments in Large Cap as well as some investments in debt. This is because, now or even after 5% down more people will not have the cash to buy but for me since I have the debt in my portfolio, I can buy at any point of time.

Along with that since the Nifty 50 has gone done by more than 5%, my portfolio has gone down by the same percentage though +/-1 here and there, as I have the right mix of Large Cap, Mid Cap and Small Cap fund. And since I have the debt fund, it is giving me the cushion. And along with that since I have a Gold Fund, it is rising now so my overall portfolio is nicely placed.

Yeah might be my money had not grown much in last year, but similarly it will not go down much also. So being a conservative investors, this style of investmneg shoots me. I will create my Mutual Fund portolfio reveal in my one of the video where I will cover why having a debt fund is best for your portolfio.
