RE: The Unrealistic ROI behind Undue Expectations & Entitlement

But originally, why does someone take a hype project seriously?

Greed and lack of financial education.

When someone has knowledge and fills his thought with appropriate financial knowledge, he wouldn't fall for trash.

taking all their savings and buying it, hoping they'll get money in two weeks to build three houses and buy four Ferrari?

I just love how the line sounds in my head..

They defend themselves with the idea that government work shouldn't be taken seriously and that the job is tiresome hence the bad attitude to work.

Well, I might not agree with you on this tho. The reason why people don't take government work seriously is because the government does not take them seriously.
For example, how much is a police paid in Nigeria? And you don't expect him to obtain people on the road.
Or let's be more real, how much is a teacher paid in Nigeria?
If the government were paying well, they would monitor their workers because they feel they have paid them well and so they should work.

I live in a country where constituted authorities want you to bribe them to do their jobs

This is annoying but if you want to get the job done, you need to pay. The truth is those who ask for bribe in Nigeria are really underpaid. But the question is, is there anyone that is not underpaid?

I've known women who rely on their beauty to get jobs or cut corners.

I think a lot of women do this but the thing I don't get is if they do not know that they have to put in the work.

My friend went for an interview all looking fine but did not read and was expected to be handed over a job.

I didn't know how to tell her that it was expected tho.

I think my comment is getting too long. I might as well stop here

This is actually very true, but you mentioned that almost everyone in Nigeria is underpaid. We overpay for goods and services but then, we receive even lesser for our efforts. Nevertheless I think government and their irresponsibility it feels like the knack to be irresponsible Comes fron top down. At the end of the day, I think the two parties can do better.

You can bring her to hive, let her know the true hustle and how it's quite different from the typical Nigeria.

This is absolutely true as well. I like to think this itself stems from the urge to be conscious on the salient issues of life and not a lot of people wants to do that. It's atypical of a lot of people to want to be financially educated. They just want to exist.

Thanks for all the brilliant input, I appreciate

I totally agree that both parties can do better. People should not be influenced by external factors. They should try to abide by principles. However, that's not the case.
