Bitcoin already reached a new ATH this summer at $124,128 on Aug 14, 2025 (12 days ago) and most of us were looking at the alts to see whom will there to do the same. And just few days ago Ethereum reached a new ATH topping $4,946.05 on Aug 24, 2025 (2 days ago) and signaled that maybe it is open season for the alts as well. But instead of that happening, it seems that Bitcoin and Ethereum decided to go drinking and they went for Bloody Marry. Yes, you've now understood where I was going towards, the crypto market is bleeding and everything went red pretty fast. Usually drinking is done at a party, but this time I think crypto will only get a bad hangover and not so much fun out of it. How will things go from here? Nobody knows even if all crypto participants hold their hope high and they all tell to themselves that this time is different... right? 😎
As an OG in crypto who has survived enough bull runs and bear markets to fill a drama Netflix mini-series, I can tell you one thing: this starts feeling like a classic. The market gets too hyped, people start yelling “to the moon” at every new ATH, and then hocus pocus and our beloved Bitcoin and Ethereum disappear for a cheeky Bloody Mary brunch. Instead of champagne and confetti, they order Taco and Shawarma like in their student years and suddenly everything on the charts looks like it’s bleeding out. First thing that I did today was to check my portfolio and it looks like a tomato salad. Red everywhere. I didn’t know whether to cry or sprinkle some feta cheese on top. But one thing is sure at least in case of Ethereum - I didn't sell while waiting for the psychological $5k threshold which seems like Icarus getting closer to the sun.
The problem with these situations is that the bartender isn’t your friend, but rather it's simply FUD. Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt just love to pour another round when the market turns red. News outlets start shouting that crypto is falling, influencers scream sell or are hiding in the closet and suddenly everyone acts like it’s the end of days. But if you’ve been in this space long enough, you know it’s just the same old script. Bitcoin and Ethereum will sober up eventually, and while they’re waiting for the Bloody Mary hangover to pass, the rest of us are forced to deal with the mess: liquidations, panic sales, pessimism, delaying our retirement and other out of this world goals we might have from getting rich from crypto.
So, what do we do while Bitcoin and Ethereum are partying without us? Simple: we keep our cool and maybe also have a drink - Tequila never hurt anyone, right? 😉. The market’s red, but that doesn’t mean we should turn red as well. We need to take this time to remember why we invested in the first place. We shouldn't be the person selling their ETH at $4,500 only to watch it bounce back in a week. We shouldn't be the ones who swear off crypto forever, only to come crawling back when it’s hitting new highs again. I know as I did that already. As I already know the feeling and how to cope with it, I’m just grabbing some snacks and watching the charts quite detached from the sidelines. This isn’t my first rodeo, nor my first Bloody Mary or Tequila. Bitcoin and Ethereum will eventually trade their tomato juice cocktails for something stronger and better. And when they do, I’ll be here, hopefully without a hangover and acting once and for all.
The market may be red today, but hangovers don’t last forever and I think we've all at least experienced that. We simply need to let Bitcoin and Ethereum sleep it off, because once they wake up, the party will be back on. Until then, hydrate, chill, and maybe skip your own Bloody Mary order. And just continue with your life and try to enjoy some real connections outside of this digital craziness. That should refill us with energy and prepare us for what's next to come, hopefully a turnaround of the market (again and again).

Definitely! This too shall pass. I can't say it wasn't unexpected but still observing it happening just hits different, the FUD and anticipation whether it will go lower are familiar companions :)
