It's Sunday, and that means I'm late with my #SaturdaySavers update. Never mind, better late than never !

Here's my table of progress for the week;
Well the first thing that jumps out is that I need to engage more !
My level of comments has dropped terribly. There are two things going on here. First is that I find it far too easy to doomscroll through posts, liberally scattering upvotes but rarely commenting. The second, which in a peculiar way is a healthy thing, is that quite often my comments are like short posts. I have an instinctive dislike of leaving the kind of comment that just says "Nice post". I just don't see how that adds value to a discussion. So the solution is probably to keep the longer comments under control (if it takes longer than 5 minutes to write, maybe it should be a response post !), while at the same time making more comments on posts by people who deserve it where I currently just think about it and move on. I should stop being so lazy !
In terms of posts, I'm kind of comfortable with the level I'm at. Yes I'm not going to hit my HP target, but I've accepted that it was an impossible goal to start with. Not feeling the pressure to maintain a daily streak is nice, it removes one more self-inflicted stress from my life. It also means I'm finding that I suffer less from writers' block and the guilt of missing a day doesn't create a block to re-starting.
Apart from that, my Hive life is just plodding along nicely. I'm starting to think about ways to increase adoption here in the UK, but I'm not sure if I've got the time, money and contacts to make them happen right now - most of them involve setting up events where HBD payment is made the norm, which is a big jump for UK consumers who aren't in the crypto space !
If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.
If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.
I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
You’re really making steady progress and keeping a good perspective on your goals. Engagement without burnout that's the strategy I would always go for
Thank you ! Yep, I think I burned out a bit earlier in the year. Lesson learned, it's supposed to be fun, not a second job ! 😁
Yes that's something I'm getting around to figure out now, we make it a second job and it's no going to be exciting and definitely pending burnout
I also doomscroll on posts as of late but it's mostly learning things that I don't have sufficient information on to make at least a meaningful comment. I find myself spending more time here reading posts, comment discussions than commenting and I'm still figuring out how to make the latter incorporated into the former.
Good progress, btw, still moving forward :)
Thank you ! I think you're right - with people here from all around the world, there is so much to learn and so many different cultural perspectives to see. It's endlessly fascinating !
Yes, this diversity at least seems more authentic to me than the one displayed on traditional social media.
You're most welcome :)
