Joseon Attorney: A Historical show for your viewing pleasure.

Woo Do-Hwan, the main character in this Kdrama, has been fairly busy with his involvement in Kdrama projects since this year and it's not a surprise because he took 2 years off acting due to his enlistment in the Korean military service. He just got discharged in 2022 and his name has been popping up everywhere.

One of his best works in the first half of this year is Bloodhounds, a Kdrama about boxing and money lending. Check that out on Netflix. I've already hyped the bloody hell out of that Kdrama when I made a review about it. Now, let's dive into the one we have on our review list for today;

I've been hungry for a historical Kdrama since this year and this is pretty much the first one I'm seeing this year. Nonetheless, A LOT more are already in the making. The likes of My Dearest with a 9.3 rating on IMBD and the second season of Arthdal Chronicles are already underway. They look fascinating and I'm patiently waiting for the full release before feasting on them.

Joseon Attorney is a fairly interesting historical Kdrama and part of the reason I enjoy it so much is because it's based on the historical foundation of the legal System of the country we currently know as South Korea. As someone who is already a history buff, shows like these always whet my appetite and I enjoyed all the cases that were highlighted in this show.

This excellent drama also highlights the political warfare that is usually visible between the Royal family and the ministers in the royal court. The power tussle is filled with intensity. However, if you are not very interested in Politics, you can still enjoy the part of the show that deals with a burning desire for vengeance. Koreans are quite reputable for doing a really good job in their revenge stories.

The ending part of the show especially the 15th episode has a very sad and cold opening. It pulls the emotional string of viewers in a very dramatic way and I really wished they did something different there, but their intention was obviously to make viewers sad and it worked in more ways than you would imagine. It almost feels like that cold opening was a set-up for all the conflict that will take place in the final episode.

That's brilliant, right?!

The show is amazing and each of the major characters did a really good job. They also have solid backstories that make it easier for viewers to connect with them on an emotional level. If you love these sorts of Kdramas, you will also enjoy watching this one.
