Shooting Stars (Kdrama review)

December is a popular month for holidays, but this year December was a busy month for me and in rare cases I got the chance to watch dramas or movies. It is hard to imagine that in last 1.5 months I didn’t watch a single episode of any drama. But after December 20 I got free time, and I didn’t miss the opportunity to watch a drama. Let’s jump to the drama directly.

The name of the drama (Kdrama) is Shooting stars. The drama belongs to the rom-com genre. Total episodes of the drama are 16 and each episode contains 1 hour. So, to complete watching the drama you need 16 hours. From the surface it’s a romance drama between a couple where the main male character is the best actor and the main female character is a PR team leader who use to responsible for cleaning up celebrity messes as well as rumors. But from a different perspective it represents many backgrounds work of entertainment industry.

Watching the drama, you will understand that being a celebrity is not an easy task. They need to go through a lot of things. They can’t do the things they want to do as public opinion matters a lot. Dealing with rumors can also be a stressful thing for them. They need to hide their personal life to protect their beloved ones. The most painful thing is that they can’t even date openly even if it’s not a crime. It’s like wherever they go, people, reporters follow them openly or secretly. It’s like keeping their personal life private seems very difficult for them. Another painful thing is they need to keep smiling, it doesn’t matter if they are sad and heartbroken or exhausted. But in the end celebrities are also human and so it’s not so easy to deal with all of those things.

Again, you can also understand that for a successful entertainment industry, it requires huge efforts. People can see the acting of the actor and actress and praise them when it’s good. But behind that there are people who work behind the camera and contribute a lot to make an entertainment industry successful. We can’t see them working but their contribution is not less than actors and actress. Many times, they need to be ready working nonstop depending on situations. Even, they need to sacrifice their sleep many times.

Overall, this drama can give you little insight about how a entertainment industry works. In case of rating, I would love to rate it 7.5/10. You may say the rating is low, but I give it after considering many things. You can see the drama trailer and then decide whether to see it or not, but I must say the acting was good. Story was decent and I think you won’t feel at least.
