Osmeña Peak Exploration: A Simple Adventure to Remember❤️☺️

Visiting Osmeña Peak is one on my bucket list. Gladly, I am able to explore it with a friend. ❤️☺️

Before we start the journey, here's some details about Osmeña Peak:

• It is the highest point in Cebu at around 1,072.6 meters above sea level.

• Nestled in the jagged hills of Mantalungon on the Dalaguete and Badian border.

• Its green peaks are often resembles to Bohol’s Chocolate Hills but sharper and more dramatic.

• Named after Cebu’s notable Osmeña family.

• It shows off stunning 360° views of Cebu’s highlands and the Tañon Strait beyond.

Let's now move to the exploration, an experience I’ve been looking forward to for so long. ☺️

My friend and I set off from Cebu City early, around 5 AM. The long drive took us about 3 to 4 hours. We enjoyed good conversation, then stopped at Jollibee in Carcar for a quick breakfast before heading into the mountains. After having breakfast, we continue the ride.

As we neared Dalaguete, we stopped the car at scenic view to snap a few photos.

When we arrived, we were greeted by vendors selling fresh local produce.

Then, a friendly tour guide approached and guided us to Tourism Information Center. She helped us register at the tourism kiosk for ₱50, and guided us up the trail.

The tour guide volunteered taking photos along the way using my phone. ❤️☺️

While going up the trail, we meet some locals and foreign tourists going down and done with their exploration.

The trail wound through lush greenery with cool breezes, a perfect climate, echoing Mantalungon’s Little Baguio vibe. I even managed a jump shot for fun! 😁☺️

The hike was brief but refreshing. It takes only about 15–30 minutes along a trail lined with cool, misty vegetation. The breeze felt like I was in Baguio even I never been there. 🤭

At the top, it's all worth it! It's stunning! Everywhere I looked were rolling, grass-covered hills stretching toward the Tañon Strait. On a clear day, you can even glimpse Bohol or Negros across the water. The peaks reminded me of the Chocolate Hills, but with sharper edges lending a dramatic flair.

Because I’m a bit afraid of heights, I stayed low, sitting and kneeling at the peak while enjoying the view. The winds roared, making standing up unnerving. Still, the guide captured stunning photos. ❤️

The guide cleverly used small rocks to create camera illusions. One moment I looked tiny against small rocks.

After the breathtaking exploration, we took a break, sipping Yakult and water. Feeling like nature models with mountains as our backdrop. 😁

After exploration, I had a photo at the Osmeña Peak signboard to mark the adventure.

We thanked our tour guide with a small tip, then bought fresh harvest from the vendors, a lovely way to support local farmers.

Then we began the journey home, our minds filled with the serene landscape we’d just explored. ❤️

My trip to Osmeña Peak reminded me that adventure doesn’t need to be grand, it just needs heart. From early morning drive and scenic pit stops to the summit wind and local produce, every moment sparked gratitude.

If you're visiting Cebu, don’t miss this must see destination. Like me, you might find it’s worth every step and every stop along the way. ☺️❤️

Travel Tips:
✓ Drive early in the morning to avoid rough traffic and enjoy the coolest hours.
✓ Entrance fee is ₱50 per person and tour guide tips (₱100–150) are appreciated.
✓ Hike takes just 15–30 minutes or around 1 hour round-trip.
✓ Wear good shoes, bring water, a jacket, snacks, and sun protection.
