When paths lead beyond the theater | [EN/ES]

Hello, Hive travelers!

I have to admit, I was undecided about how to put this post together. For a moment, I considered creating two separate posts—given the wide range of photos I have to share—but I ultimately decided to create a single post that would somehow combine the marvelous reality that life offers us along the journey.

For one thing, I had the opportunity to admire an extraordinary scale model—one whose very existence was unknown to me—of the Teatro La Caridad. This venue was once a landmark for both my city and the country, yet it has gradually withered away, slipping into near-oblivion—much like the model itself, which I found discarded in an abandoned courtyard, right next to my province's cemetery, of all places.

On another note, I am taking this unique opportunity to step into the Teatro Real—now that it has opened its doors for a day to air out its interiors and showcase some of the paintings that lend it such prestige, such as those depicting figures from the Golden Age.

I have tried to find information about the creator of the model but have had no success. I would have liked to meet him and congratulate him on the excellent work he did.

Note the precision of the scale and the structural details—they are worthy of praise and applause.

The La Caridad Theater—a building that has stood for over a century—has remained closed to the public for more than two decades, holding onto the hope of recapturing the magic it has always offered to those of us fortunate enough to experience great performances on its stage.

As an actor, I felt a tightness in my chest on the occasions I performed upon its stage. As an audience member, I was deeply moved by indescribable ballet productions, concerts featuring priceless music, and the occasional comedy show that still lingers in my memory.

In the meantime, hoping to see its doors and stage restored to the dignity they deserve, I bid you farewell until my next visit—but not without sending each of you a warm embrace of light!

Les confieso que estaba indeciso sobre cómo realizar esta publicación. Es que por un instante pensé en que podría hacer dos publicaciones diferentes, considerando la amplia gama de fotos que les ofrezco, pero finalmente decidí sea una sola publicación en sí que lograse combinar de alguna manera lo real maravilloso que la vida nos ofrece en el camino.

Por un lado, tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar de una maqueta extraordinaria que desconocía que existiese, una maqueta del Teatro La Caridad, instalación que hace años llegase a ocupar la categoría de insignia de mi ciudad y el país, pero que ha ido muriendo en el tiempo, casi al olvido como esta propia maqueta que me mostraron tirada en un patio abandonado, para colmos justo al lado del cementerio de mi provincia.

Por otro lado, aprovecho para adentrarnos al umbral del teatro real en una oportunidad única ahora que abrieron un día sus puertas para ventilar parte de su interior y algunas de las obras pictóricas, de personajes del siglo de oro, por ejemplo, que le prestigian.

He intentado buscar información sobre el autor de la maqueta y no he tenido éxito. Me hubiese gustado conocerlo y felicitarlo por el gran trabajo que hizo.

Noten la precisión de la escala, los detalles estructurales, merecedores de elogios y aplausos.

El teatroLa Caridad, institución que supera el siglo de construida, permanece cerrada al público hace más de dos décadas con la esperanza de recuperar la magia que siempre ha ofrecido a quienes hemos podido vivir grandes espectáculos en su escenario.

Como actor, pude sentir mi pecho apretado alguna ocasión en que actúe sobre su retablo. Como público, viví con emoción obras indescriptibles de ballet, conciertos de música invaluable y algún que otro espectáculo humorístico que aún persiste en mi memoria.

Mientras, con la esperanza de ver sus puertas y escenario con el decoro que merecen, me voy despidiendo hasta un próximo viaje, no sin antes regalarles a cada uno de ustedes ¡un abrazo de luz!
