Benches, Breeze, and a Picnic Lunch at Oroqueta City, Misamis Occidental

Hello @worldmappin. Today, I will take you to one of the beautiful cities of Misamis Occidental, and it is Oroqueta City, which also known as The City of Good Life in Mindanao.

It was summer vacation, the kids had no classes, so I took them with me together with my nephew and niece. I had something to check at the Oroqueta City Hall, and I found it as an opportunity for the kids to stroll somewhere with fresh sea breeze and with stunning scenic beauty.

I fetched my niece and nephew at Tangub City, and we travelled to hours. I dropped them at Oroqueta City Plaza and told them to wait me until I come back. The plaza was not crowded, only few people were there, and the kids has enough space to play, run, or just lay and relax, if they wanted to.

When I came back, I saw the kids eating ice cream cones. They bought icecream from the Mamang Sorbetero (Ice cream man) and it was obvious that they love the ice cream very much.

I draw our packed lunch from the back seat, and we shared our lunch in the plaza. It was like a picnic, and it was memorable. The kids love eating outside, though we ate the same food in breakfast. And there were stray cats in the plaza, also enjoying our leftovers and bones.

After our lunch, they seemed to be very full that they were just sitting on benches under the big tress, while my youngest lie down in one of the benches and stay there as if he was just on his bed, under those blue skies.

After almost an hour of playing around, lying, sitting and walking while enjoying the beautiful scenery and fresh air from the sea, they headed to the boulevard. The I Love Oroqueta Landmark is uniquely designed with a big squid and a big red heart. Though it was very hot at 1 in the afternoon, they enjoyed picture taking while I was the one holding the umbrella for them.

We left the plaza and stroll around the city. The city of Oroqueta is manifesting progress through its structures and establishments. It is worth the title, The City of Good Life.
