After we visited the Bacolod Philippines Temple, we headed to The Ruins. It was not actually part of our original plan. The plan was, after the temple, we would travel back home. But we were near the place so why not?
The place is just a few blocks from the Bacolod Philippines Temple. Situated in the middle of a sugarcane plantation in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The Ruins
The Ruins are the remains of an ancestral mansion of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson. It was built in the 1900s in memory of his wife, Maria Braga Lacson. As the encryption says, it is inspired by Italian Architecture. In World War II, it was set on fire by the guerrillas to prevent the Japanese forces from using it as a garrison.
At present, the area is being maintained. There is an entrance feeโdifferent rates for adults, children, and Senior Citizens. I can't remember the exact rate. By bad, I was not able to snap a photo of the rates for reference. ๐ I think it's 150 per adult. Anyway, let's explore the area.
There were many visitors during our visit because it was a holiday. The Ruins is also a famous venue for photo shoots. While we were there, we saw groups with professional photographers and complete gear. What a sight to see.
!
And for us, we managed to take shots with fewer photo bombers heheh. The place was really nice and very green. Green lawn with trees around. There's also a restaurant inside and a drink stall. Serving fresh-squeezed sugar cane juice.
I took some photos inside. They added some fixtures.
Our children wanted to try the juice, so we bought one to satisfy their cravings. And Yeah! Fresh sugarcane juice it is!
We were glad we came to visit. It was not the first time for me. I've been to the Ruins years ago when I was still single. It was the first time for my family. It was a great experience added to our memories "database". ๐
After exploring and picture taking, it was time to leave. The sky was so dark the time we got into our cars. Not long after we left, the rain started to pour. We travelled through the rain back home to Bais City. We arrived home past 9 PM.
Another check to our Bucket List.
Thank you for touring with us. Until my next blog or family adventure.
xoxo,
Met
