Some areas the colours did pop on route to Smugglers Notch, small towns look inviting.
Thanks for sharing your outing, perhaps plans for future going a couple of weeks earlier, then you may miss the fall, always 50/50 in hindsight.

Yeah, I think the colors might have been better, but I also think the crowds would have even been larger. This is a pretty popular area for people to come and look at the leaves.
Must be special to witness, too many people would put a damper on the whole experience trying to be outdoors in the quiet.
