Last Monday was a legal non-working holiday in my country. My partner and I planned ahead of time where to spend our day. We agreed to visit some of the local tourist attractions here in our area. I wasn’t that excited at first, but I had to show him that I was hahahah.
We left home at 4:30 a.m. Our first stop for that day was the Sea of Clouds or commonly known as Sinote, a Subanen word which means the sea of clouds. When we started to enter the municipality of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, the misty soft rain started to shower. It didn’t wet us that much, but the mist made a very cold and freezing feeling while I had the backride. We used our motorcycle because we thought it would be very convenient to use it on roads where we haven’t yet gone.
I noticed when we started to go up to that long and winding road. We used GPS to locate the place. Good thing the data connection was good in that area, though it was getting farther from the town proper.
The panoramic view started to unfold right before our eyes, though it was still a bit dark at 5:20 in the morning.
At exactly 5:35 in the morning, we arrived at RJWJ Nature Park. The place was best known for where anyone can experience Sinote or the Sea of Clouds. It was advised to be in the place before 6 in the morning, or you will miss the beauty of the moving white clouds that look like the sea.
He parked, and I immediately went up to that small hill. I couldn’t wait to see the sea of clouds, so I left him below the hill while he readied the food we brought in his u-box. Hahahah, I said I was not excited at first, but when I saw the panoramic view along the way, my excitement built up.
When I entered that narrow bamboo gate, I saw a beautiful landscape with flowers, coconuts, trees, and photo booths (a big heart where you can sit, a boat where you can climb and experience boating without moving hahahahah, a big Hello Kitty coffee cup, a hand with pink polish, and a balcony where you can sit with stunning backdrop).
I hurried to the heart-shaped bench, and surprisingly, when I looked down, the scenery was breathtaking! I saw the sea of clouds! My partner came, and we both enjoyed the magical show of Mother Nature.
The moving white cottony clouds or fog covered the whole empty space that truly looked like the sea. That was stunning and magical! I haven’t seen a wonder as beautiful as that before.
We stayed there for quite some time, just admiring the beauty that unfolded before us. The cool breeze touched our faces, and the sound of nature was so calming that I almost forgot the long ride we had earlier. It felt like the world had paused for a moment.
After taking lots of photos and videos, we decided to eat the breakfast my partner had packed. It was nothing fancy—just bread, boiled eggs, and coffee—but it felt like a feast because of the wonderful scenery surrounding us. Eating while watching the sea of clouds slowly fade.
As the morning went on, we walked around the park and explored the different photo spots. We laughed at each other’s silly poses and even tried the boat that was standing still on land. Everything was light and fun, and it reminded me how important it is to spend time with loved ones away from the busy routines of daily life.
By around 8:00 in the morning, the clouds started to disappear, and the view of the green mountains revealed itself. It was another kind of beauty—different, but still as captivating.
Sometimes, we do not realize how wonderful our own local places are until we take the time to visit them. That trip to the Sea of Clouds was more than just sightseeing; it was a reminder to slow down, appreciate nature, and treasure moments with the people we love. Life may often feel fast and demanding, but there will always be places like this that give us peace, joy, and memories worth keeping forever.

The view is beautiful! It’s breathtaking to look at, but I have a fear of heights. The giant Hello Kitty mug is also so cute~ 😍🥰
Ang ganda dyannnn, I'll be very excited to explore the place if ever mabisita ko yang place and I'll for sure take a lot of photos. Super ganda lang ng view on top, very peaceful and makakahanap ka talaga dyan ng peacefulness. Sipping coffee while enjoying the view is the perfect thing to do in there.
Thank you po 🙏
