In my last travel blog, I shared with you our experience when we visited the Simala Shrine in Sibonga, Cebu, and that was unforgettable. Another unforgettable experience of our Cebu City adventure was our two-night stay at Horizon Condominium, a cozy living space above Cebu City.
Before we left home, I made sure we had a place in Cebu where we could spend our nights. I searched online of where to stay in Cebu with comfort yet not too expensive. Good thing I found a condo unit that could accommodate the five of us, so I booked online. That was quite impressive, with 1400 per night, I knew we could save rather than staying in a hotel. So, I booked it online.
When we reached Cebu City, I immediately called the agent, and she told me to just go directly to the lobby on the ground floor and ask for our key. The staff at the tower were very friendly and helpful. They always smiled and made us feel welcome. The service was really good, and it made our stay even better.
In the lobby, we stayed for a while and had a photo taking. It was cozy, and the simple decorations made it very welcoming and warm. We enjoyed our photo sessions with our baggage on the side.
Our unit was on the 19th floor. We took the elevator, but something funny happened. The elevator wouldn’t move! We didn’t know that we had to swipe our card for it to take us to our floor. We were just standing there, waiting for the door to close, but nothing happened, hahaha! 🤣😂
We had no idea what to do. Good thing someone else came in. He swiped his card, and then we saw how it worked. That’s when we finally understood! We just laughed at ourselves. We’re from the province, and our small hotels don’t have this kind of elevator, hahaha 🤣😂! It was a new experience for us.
When we opened our unit, it was beautiful inside! The design and decorations were very nice, simple, clean, and cozy. It felt like home. We even cooked our own food in the kitchen, which was fun and saved us money.
From our window, we could see the sea and a big part of the city. The view was amazing, especially in the morning and at night with all the lights.
The tower also has a swimming pool on the 11th floor. My son and nephew had so much fun swimming there! It was one of their favorite parts of the stay.
Another funny thing happened during our swimming time. I went down to the 11th floor with my son, nephew, and partner so they could enjoy the pool. After that, I went back up to our unit.
They brought their phones with them, but they forgot that our Wi-Fi only worked in the unit. So when they finished swimming and went to take the elevator back to the 19th floor, they realized they had a problem, the key card was with me!
They tried to message me on Messenger, but of course, no Wi-Fi on the 11th floor. And they had no mobile data or load. So they just stood there, stuck and wet, no way to contact me!
Then someone else came into the elevator and was heading to the 23rd floor. They thought, "Let’s just go with her and maybe the door will stop at 19th." But nope, the elevator went straight to the 23rd. So there they were, all in their wet shirts and shorts, waiting on the 23rd floor, hoping someone else would come along and swipe for the 19th. 🤣🤣
They ended up waiting for half an hour! Till now, I still wonder why they didn’t just change clothes on the 11th floor after swimming, haha! 🤣😂🤣
We felt very safe and comfortable at Horizon Condominium, though we experienced new things that were uncomfortable and funny. It was a great place to stay if you want a quiet and homey spot in the middle of the city. We would love to come back again someday.
Note: Random photos we had at Horizon are shared in this blog, and these photos are mine.
