Discovering a secret buncker.

Hello, world mappers,

I have a nice travel story for you again. I am discovering so many new places. And I am making insane discovery's to. Like the day that I visited a lighthous along the coast of Coasta da Morte.

When I drove up the road towards the ligt house, I already saw a signe that I was entering militaire erae but no signe that I couldn't go in. It was open to the public, and there were more people walking around there. So I thought that the light house was a military object, but I was wrong. When I walked towards the lighthouse to enjoy the surroundings and the views over the ocean...

... I saw a big bunker tucked away in the mountains. And of course, I wanted to go up and have a good look at that thing.

It wasn't that big, and I thought it was built there to protect the licht house. Still no clue on what kind of terrain I was.

In the back of the buncker, I spotted some more hills. And I am always going for the nicest view, so I decided to climb a bit further up.

And when I came on top of the higest hill, I saw a lot of concreted there. Almost the whole mountain top was concrete. That was really strange.

And even stranger was this massive hole in the ground. It must have been at least 10 meters deep. I immediately knew that this hole must have been a hole for a very big gun or cannon. I really was flabbergasted standing on top of it.

And ofcours. I needed to go in there. I must go and find an entrance to this building. I love it to go out and discover like this.

I ended up in the main square of the compound. Where there were multiple buildings located around. Many of them were badly destroyed, and others had very nice graffiti art painted on them.

I went in all of those buildings because I wanted to find the entrance to go down into that massive hole.

And there it was, a massive staircase into the dark. I was so excited to finaly have found it.

Let's go, in to the unknown and into the dark.

It's hard to see how big this building really is. You could easily fit a couple of trucks in here. Nextime, I need to remember myself to be my own moddel. Then you have a reference point if a human and the trough zise of the suroundings is more visible.

I am a big fan of the saw movies, so seeing this graffiti geve me goosebumps.

And there were the big holes of the canons. There were two of them. I just saw one hole when I was standing outside there. But they were massive.

I tried to make a panorama picture of one of the holes, but the difference between the light and the dark was a bit too much to get a good shot of it. I hope it is a bit clear to you how big they were.

The name of the fort, BaterΓa de Prior Alto. Build by the Spanisdictator Franco.

My friend, until today I thought I was adventurous πŸ˜… but you go even further. This place is truly impressive, and I'm so glad you went to the most hidden corners to give us these photographs. That Saw graffiti was really fun, although at the same time it's a little scary to have it there. All the photographs are excellent; you've done a great job here! 🍻

Yep, i know. Die in Spanje leek verdacht veel op een deel van de atlantic wall maar chat gpt vertelde mij dat de Duitsers toch niks te maken hebben gehad met de bouw hiervan.
