Let’s go to south Cebu, Philippines; particularly this is a spot in the town of Oslob. For foreigners and local tourists alike, this town has become more popular because of Whale Shark Diving. This is a coastal town so they have nice beaches and great sea view to cherish. The place of interest for today is Stay N Save B&B located in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines. This is where you can have a serene retreat while enjoying the view of the vast sea and the blue sky.
The trip by motorcycle started at about 9 in the morning. The weather was perfect for motorcycle ride because it was not sunny, just a bit gloomy and not humid. It was just a day trip since we only had that day as our free time to go somewhere and relax. This was also our chance to visit my partner’s daughter who was staying here for two days with her friends. We reached the place at about 15 minutes past 11 in the morning. Before departure, we already had a full breakfast so we would not be hungry on our way. When we got there, we were greeted by the relaxing view of the coast and the cool sea breeze.
I and my partner just wanted to relax on this day. We didn’t really plan on going for a swim; to stroll around and see a different view was already enough for us.
You can reach this place:
By Bus – take the bus from South Bus Terminal, Cebu City. Request to be dropped off at Stay and Save B&B located in Barangay Tan-awan, Oslob town. The bus ride may last to about 3 hours and 30 minutes. Fare-150 PHP (about 3 USD)
By Taxi – from Cebu City, this depends on the negotiation. May take about 2 and half hours. Fare-3,500 PHP (about 61 USD)
By Private Vehicle – from Cebu City, the ride may also take about 2 and half hours. Gas cost one way – 1,000PHP (about 17 USD)
By Motorcycle – from Cebu City, this will take about 2 hours depending on speed and traffic. Gas cost one way – 250PHP (about 5 USD)
It was also gloomy when we reached that town, so the blue sky was not so visible, and I did not edit the brightness of the pictures anymore. I heard that some of guests went to experience Whale Shark Diving while the other guests went to see the Tumalog Falls. These tourists destinations are not too far from Stay N Save B&B.
We just rested a bit and immediately explored the area. There is a mini bridge that’s made of bamboo going to a small shade on a cliff. We heard the sound of the water forcefully splashing the sides of the cliff. It was also a little windy that time so we had to hold our belongings carefully or else they would be blown away.
A wider and lovelier angle can be seen from this point. Mini shades are artistically placed on a narrow strip of land above the cliff. It started to drizzle a bit so some of the local tourists just went to the main lobby.
They utilized some corners of the cliff by putting some mini huts for guests to rest or have their food while relaxing and savoring the precious moments. These are mainly made of bamboos, and the roof is made of leaves of the local plant called nipa palm. Thus we call shades like this as "Nipa Hut." Imagine yourself sipping your mango shake or banana shake while resting inside this humble hut. A narrow pathway or concrete steps take you to the different serene spots overlooking the sea.
Different areas of the resort look truly native, utilizing local materials for the structure and decorations. The ceiling and blue hanging lanterns are all made from bamboos, wooden benches, and there are also potted snake plants around their area.
They have different nipa huts within the surrounding. This is their Garden View.
They also offer the Cliff View with traditional-looking rooms. Coconut trees, bougainvilla flowers, and different plants beautify the surrounding.
Cute-looking tree houses can also be seen.
We went home with contented heart and energized spirits. The sea view is always a lovely scene to behold. Hoping for more spontaneous trips this summer.
