A Generational Myth || ZapFic240Monday

Prompt: Hiccup

Image from unsplash

As a kid, my hiccups were intense.
My mom would often draw out a thread from her old wrapper and lay it gently on my hair. Surprisingly, it worked. I never believed in that magic, but like everyone else, I carried the ritual into adulthood.

This post is a response to the ZapFic240 contest, where we're expected to test our creativity by writing a story using 240 characters. If you'd like to write with us, you can start by reading the rules for entry here.

Second image is a screenshot I own.

It always worked even when we don't really believe it. 😂

I know, right.😂 The coincidence must be so perfectly timed, all across states. Lol.

Oh dear, I thought my mom was just being superstitious the first time I saw her place thread from her wrapper on my brother’s head when he was a baby, only to be shocked at how fast the hiccup went away. Lol.

See, I'm not even surprised you have your own experience of it. I'm just shocked by the fact that it seems to work almost immediately, like you said. Lol.
