If I'm honest, my crutch has always been my phone......always
Not in a bad way, but anytime I feel awkward, anytime I feel nervous, anytime I don't want to face somethingg,.....>>> I pick myy phone. I'm in a gathering and I don't know what to say? ......>>>I press my phone. I have an article to write and fear is catching me? .....>>I will open TikTok and scroll for one hour........ I have to talk to someone about somethingg serious? I will type instead of calling.
My phone is my shield.

I realized it last month in Onitsha .I went to a small meetup. I was the youngest there. I felt small. Everyone was speaking big English, talking about crypto, Web3. My heart was beatingg fast. What did I do?...... I brought out my phone and pretended I was replyingg to an important messagge. But there was no messagge. I was just hidingg.
That's when I knew. My phone is my crutch.
But lately I'm learning to drop it. Small small. Now when I'm nervous, I breathe. I look up. I sayy "Hiiiii, I'm new here." And surprisingly, people smile back.
My crutch helped me survive when I was shy. But now I want to walk without it.
What is your crutch?
