The selfish frog

In a small pond full of tasty flies lived a frog, green from end to end, bulging eyes and a tongue as long as a rope.

That frog was very happy in that pond, it was her beloved home, where she had lived all her existence, since he was a little egg floating in the murky water. She grew up, had memories and took over that endearing place.

The days passed like rays of light, but the frog didn't care about that, she was still in her pond, eating her flies that she caught with her tongue, they were her delicious feast and she had so many that she was full, then she went to her little cave and fell asleep.

Her life was perfect, she could not be more comfortable, but what the frog did not know is that everything that seems perfect, is not perfect forever and life always gives surprises, often unpleasant and that collapse perfect worlds.

It was dawn at the pond, the rays of the morning sun were a pleasant caress on everything they touched. The frog opened her mouth and blinked to moisten her eyes, she began to jump to get to her favorite place to eat her delicious flies, her eyes were fixed on a frog, dark green, who was eating her flies, the flies that belonged to her. This caused the frog to feel an anger flowing from her stomach to her head.

She jumped a few paces to get closer to the dark green frog. I try to calm down and talk calmly with that invader, who had appropriated her own thing.

"Hey, friend, I inform you that that's my place."

"I don't see your name written anywhere." The dark green frog was croaking.

"It doesn't have my name on it, but it belongs to me because I live here." The frog was trying to contain her anger.

"There are many places to eat, look there is one." The dark green frog was pointing with one of its paws.

"I don't want another place, I want my place." The frog was starting to get angry.

"I don't know why you can't change places. What's so special about this one?"

"That's my place and I always put myself there to eat." The frog was making a gesture of disgust.

"I think the pond fairy won't like that selfish attitude." The dark green frog was still eating flies.

"The fairy of the ponds?" The frog looked at her strangely.

"That's right, the fairy of the ponds is the one who takes care because in the ponds there is peace and good coexistence between us."

"You're crazy. I've never heard of the pond fairy." The frog jumped up angrily and wanted to fight with that invader. "I'm tired of stupid things. Get out of my place!"

The frog was pushing the dark green frog into the water and then laughing. The dark green frog was disappearing under the water. The selfish frog felt that she had won and cheerfully started eating her flies as if nothing had happened.

At that moment, a blinding light appeared and a fairy was coming out of it.

"Selfish frog, you don't deserve to live in this pond." The fairy was flying around the frog.

"Wait, fairy lady, this has been my place for as long as I can remember and that invading frog wanted to take over it." The frog was terrified.

"If you like your place so much, you'll be here forever." The fairy was waving her wand.

The frog saw this and quickly jumped into the water, but the fairy's magic caught up with her and turned her into stone, leaving her with petrified legs out of the water. That selfish frog remained like a statue in that pond and became a warning symbol for others. The frogs that came to that pond lived in peace and shared the spaces, while the fairy continued to keep watch.

«No quiero otro lugar, quiero mi lugar».
