Forgotten Footsteps

Dongi, Mrs. Brown's loyal cat companion, sat quietly between Mrs. Brown's favorite boots. Those were the boots Mrs. Brown once wore with pride whenever they were on their daily adventures into the woods; unfortunately, they are now packed at the corner of the house with dust all over them, their laces tangled and forgotten. Dongi let out a soft meow sound, calling out for Mrs. Brown, but there was no answer; she was met with nothing but silence.

Before Mrs. Brown was bedridden, which was caused by a stroke she had over two years ago, both Dongi and Mrs. Brown would set out for the woods every morning and evening, enjoying the sound of dry leaves as they walked on them and the beautiful sounds of birds, admiring nature until they got to a particular small stream where they usually took their rest and watched the water flow before returning back.

Those boots in between Dongi were once upon a time a symbol of their adventures together; now look at them sitting idle, serving as a reminder of what they have lost.

What I see

I feel the cat is sad and lonely and needs someone to talk to
