Pront: El secreto en el ático.

Roberto estaba por terminar la secundaria y tanto él como sus compañeros de clase estaban muy contentos, ya que eso significaba el fin de un ciclo importante en sus vidas y el inicio de otro reto, que para él y otros de sus compañeros era la universidad.

Roberto también había visto con mucho interés cómo varios de sus compañeros y compañeras de clase habían decidido no ir a la universidad, sino que habían decidido aprender y dedicarse a un oficio. Una de sus amigas quería ser costurera y su meta era montar un taller de costura, y Rodrigo, uno de los mejores amigos de Roberto, quería ser carpintero y montar su propio taller.

Roberto miraba a sus amigos con envidia, ya que tenían la libertad de elegir lo que querían hacer con sus vidas, y además sus padres y familiares apoyaban sus decisiones.

Pero la historia de Roberto era diferente; él quería ir a la universidad a estudiar artes; a él le encantaba la pintura y la escultura, pero su padre, al ver sus dotes y su interés por el arte, le prohibió pintar y hacer esculturas en su casa, y le dijo con mucha fuerza e imposición que él debía estudiar algo que le permitiese encargarse del negocio familiar.

El papá de Roberto tenía una fábrica de galletas, y él le exigía a Roberto, su hijo mayor, que estudiase alguna carrera que le permitiese seguir con el negocio; podía ser una carrera técnica como ingeniería, o podía ser una carrera como administración, derecho o algo por el estilo, que le diera las herramientas para poder manejar el negocio familiar en un futuro.

Pero él no quería nada con la empresa; Roberto era un alma libre y creativa, y se lo decía constantemente a sus padres, y eso le había traído problemas en casa, ya que su mamá lo apoyaba y defendía su posición, y su hermana y su hermano menor, a diferencia de él, querían estar en la fábrica y conocer el negocio, y desde niños se preparaban mentalmente para ello.

Roberto, le rogaba a su papá que le dejara estudiar artes, que lo dejara pintar y hasta le pidió que le permitiera hacer un taller de escultura y pintura, y le prometió a su padre que lo haría como hobby, mientras hacía sus estudios y se dedicaba a aprender el manejo de la empresa, hasta que sus hermanos se graduaran y pudiesen asumir las riendas del negocio.

Pero el padre se negaba. Un día, los padres de Roberto tuvieron una discusión muy fuerte, y la madre de Roberto le dijo a su marido que le estaba frustrando la vida a su hijo, y que él debía dejar que Roberto eligiera su propio camino, ya que él mismo debía decidir la vida que quería vivir.

Ya la situación entre ambos padres era muy fuerte, hasta el punto que la madre le dijo que no iba a dejar que le frustrara la vida a su hijo, que si no lo dejaba ser él mismo, ellos deberían divorciarse, para que ella se fuera con sus hijos y darles la libertad y el apoyo que merecían.

El padre de Roberto, al ver la situación, conversó con sus amigos, con sus socios y hasta habló con un terapeuta, y todos le dijeron lo mismo que su esposa, que él debía dejar que Roberto eligiera su propio camino, ya que esa era su vida, que él debía acompañarlo y apoyarlo como padre para que Roberto lograra sus metas, en vez de frustrarle la vida con sus imposiciones.

Un día, el padre de Roberto se dio cuenta de su error, y fue a buscar a su hijo para hablar con él; al buscarlo en la casa no lo consiguió, y al preguntar por él, la señora que limpiaba le dijo que posiblemente Roberto estuviese en el ático, ya que pasaba mucho tiempo solo ahí.

El padre de Roberto subió al ático a buscar a su hijo, y ahí en ese ático encontró el lugar secreto de su hijo. Al entrar, se quedó con la boca abierta de la impresión, ya que Roberto había construido ahí un taller, y en él había hermosas pinturas, esculturas maravillosas con muchísimos detalles y de una calidad tremenda.

Roberto, al saber que su papá había subido a su lugar secreto, subió corriendo al ático esperando lo peor, la destrucción de sus obras y del taller. Pero cuando llegó, vio a su padre parado frente a una de sus pinturas con lágrimas de emoción en los ojos, y lejos de un regaño, fue recibido con un fuerte abrazo y una solicitud de perdón de su padre.

Roberto siempre contaba esta historia en sus exposiciones, y después presentaba a sus padres, quienes se habían convertido en su más grande apoyo, para que él pudiese ser uno de los pintores y escultores más reconocidos en su tiempo a nivel internacional.

Pront: The secret in the Attic.

Roberto was about to finish high school and both he and his classmates were very happy, because that meant the end of an important cycle in their lives and the beginning of another challenge, which for him and other of his classmates was university.

Roberto had also watched with great interest how several of his classmates had decided not to go to university, but had decided to learn and dedicate themselves to a trade. One of her friends wanted to be a seamstress and her goal was to set up a sewing workshop, and Rodrigo, one of Roberto's best friends, wanted to be a carpenter and set up his own workshop.

Roberto looked at his friends with envy, since they had the freedom to choose what they wanted to do with their lives, and also their parents and relatives supported their decisions.

But Roberto's story was different; he wanted to go to university to study arts; he loved painting and sculpture, but his father, seeing his gifts and his interest in art, forbade him to paint and make sculptures at home, and told him with great force and imposition that he should study something that would allow him to take care of the family business.

Roberto's dad had a cookie factory, and he demanded Roberto, his eldest son, to study some career that would allow him to continue with the business; it could be a technical career like engineering, or it could be a career like administration, law or something like that, that would give him the tools to be able to manage the family business in the future.

But he did not want anything with the company; Roberto was a free and creative soul, and he constantly told his parents, and that had brought him problems at home, since his mom supported him and defended his position, and his sister and his younger brother, unlike him, wanted to be in the factory and know the business, and since they were children they mentally prepared for it.

Roberto, begged his dad to let him study arts, to let him paint and even asked him to allow him to do a sculpture and painting workshop, and promised his father that he would do it as a hobby, while he did his studies and dedicated himself to learning the management of the company, until his brothers graduated and could take over the reins of the business.

But the father refused. One day, Roberto's parents had a very strong argument, and Roberto's mother told her husband that she was frustrating her son's life, and that he should let Roberto choose his own path, since he should decide the life he wanted to live himself.

The situation between both parents was already very strong, to the point that the mother told her that she was not going to let her son's life frustrate him, that if she did not let him be himself, they should divorce, so that she could leave with her children and give them the freedom and support they deserved.

Roberto's father, when he saw the situation, talked with his friends, with his partners and even talked to a therapist, and they all told him the same as his wife, that he should let Roberto choose his own path, since that was his life, that he should accompany him and support him as a father so that Roberto could achieve his goals, instead of frustrating his life with his impositions.

One day, Roberto's father realized his mistake, and went to look for his son to talk to him; when looking for him in the house he did not get it, and when asking for him, the cleaning lady told him that Roberto might be in the attic, since he spent a lot of time alone there.

Roberto's father went up to the attic to look for his son, and there in that attic he found his son's secret place. When he entered, he was left with his mouth open from the impression, since Roberto had built a workshop there, and in it there were beautiful paintings, wonderful sculptures with a lot of details and of a tremendous quality.

Roberto, knowing that his dad had gone up to his secret place, ran up to the attic expecting the worst, the destruction of his works and the workshop. But when he arrived, he saw his father standing in front of one of his paintings with tears of emotion in his eyes, and far from a scolding, he was greeted with a strong hug and a request for forgiveness from his father.

Roberto always told this story in his exhibitions, and then introduced his parents, who had become his greatest support, so that he could be one of the most internationally recognized painters and sculptors of his time.
