Pront: Acompañar a la dama.

Una de las situaciones más fuertes que hay es conocer a personas mayores que, por alguna razón en la vida, han ido quedando solas, y tienen que ir enfrentando situaciones y cambios que les cambian todo su entorno, de manera imprevista.

También es muy duro ver cómo muchas de esas personas muchas veces tienen que hacer diligencias y procesos que son sumamente fuertes y sin tener idea de cómo hacerlos.

Y justo me pasó un caso como ese, cuando una vecina mayor que vive sola tuvo que traerse a su hermana que estaba enferma, ya que su sobrina se había ido del país para mejorar sus condiciones económicas y había dejado a su mamá sola.

Lo cierto es que la vecina se trae a su hermana, otra señora mayor, y al poco tiempo de tenerla viviendo en su casa, muere. Y después de esa lamentable pérdida, la señora tuvo que hacer las diligencias referentes al informe médico, el trámite con la funeraria y todo lo referente al tema de la desaparición física de una persona.

Al ver su situación, yo tomé la iniciativa de acompañar a la dama a realizar todos esos trámites y diligencias, y menos mal que fue así, debido a que, en el proceso, nos encontramos con el terrible negocio que se ha generado con la muerte y la atención de los difuntos por los servicios funerarios.

Inclusive, se le ofrecieron rebajas en los servicios de cremación y de atención en la funeraria, algo que para la señora fue impactante, debido a que no se trataba de un mueble o un artefacto que estuviese comprando.

Se trataba del último camino que haría con su hermana en esta vida.

Finalmente, después de las diligencias y de los acuerdos, la funeraria envió el carro fúnebre a retirar el cuerpo. Y en todo ese proceso, decidí acompañar a la dama, para que no estuviese sola en esos momentos tan complicados de su vida.

Después de todo ese proceso, pensé que en un futuro yo tendría que pasar por una situación parecida, cuando perdiera a mis seres queridos y finalmente yo sería el protagonista de esa marcha fúnebre, solo que en el momento que me toque ser el protagonista, no tendré conciencia de ello.

Me preguntó si habrá una forma más humana en que los servicios funerarios traten el hecho de la muerte y no verla solo como un negocio, ya que es triste ver que, hasta después de muerto, traten de aprovecharse y de sacarle el dinero a uno y a nuestros familiares.

When I saw her situation, I took the initiative to accompany the lady to carry out all those procedures and errands, and thank goodness it was like that, because, in the process, we encountered the terrible business that has been generated with death and the attention of the deceased by funeral services.

She was even offered discounts on cremation services and care at the funeral home, something that was shocking for the lady, because it was not a piece of furniture or an artifact that she was buying.

It was the last road he would take with his sister in this life.

Finally, after the errands and the agreements, the funeral home sent the hearse to remove the body. And in all that process, I decided to accompany the lady, so that she would not be alone in such complicated moments of her life.

After all that process, I thought that in the future I would have to go through a similar situation, when I lost my loved ones and finally I would be the protagonist of that funeral march, only that the moment I get to be the protagonist, I will not be aware of it.

He asked me if there will be a more humane way for funeral services to treat the fact of death and not see it only as a business, since it is sad to see that, even after death, they try to take advantage and take money from you and our relatives.
