Una de las situaciones más terribles que enfrentó el mundo entero en la década de los 30 y los 40 fue la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la decadencia de los imperios existentes y el nacimiento de nuevos imperios.

Sin embargo, la humanidad entera vivió la locura de la violencia y de la guerra generalizada, donde, como resultado de ella, se vio el genocidio casi completo de poblaciones, la destrucción de países, la creación de nuevos países a dedo impuestos por las potencias ganadoras, entre muchas otras situaciones.

Y en medio de todos los problemas que había, las naciones decidieron unirse en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), para que ella sirviera a partir de ese momento como un árbitro en el juego de la vida de las naciones, y así evitar nuevos conflictos, genocidios y situaciones de riesgo para la humanidad y para algunos países en conflictos.

Pero la realidad actual es que la ONU, en el transcurso del tiempo, ha venido perdiendo su papel de árbitro y de mediador, y en la mayoría de los casos de conflicto, ese organismo internacional, que debería defender el derecho de las naciones, hace un silencio sepulcral cuando esos conflictos son provocados o tocan los intereses de los Estados Unidos de América, país que terminó convirtiéndose por muchos años en la potencia hegemónica después de la caída de la Unión Soviética.

Entonces a la humanidad entera le queda preguntarse: ¿Qué se debe hacer cuando el árbitro de los conflictos internacionales no tiene capacidad de dar respuesta a los países que lo integran?

Hemos visto con terror cómo el gobierno de Israel masacra y realiza un genocidio casi completo del pueblo palestino, sin que la ONU haya tomado una posición firme en dicha situación. Hemos visto cómo el Secretario General de la ONU fue declarado persona non grata y se le retiró su visa a él y al personal de la ONU para poder entrar a Israel.

Hemos visto cómo los Estados Unidos de América no solamente apoyan el genocidio del pueblo palestino, sino que también apoyan militarmente a Israel en un ataque militar a Irán, después atacan a Nigeria y, finalmente, mueven sus tropas y portaaviones al mar Caribe, matan a más de 100 personas acusándolas de narcoterroristas y cometiendo crímenes de guerra, que están siendo juzgados por la ley estadounidense, mientras la ONU no toma ninguna posición real.

También hemos visto cómo los Estados Unidos de América realizan un ataque sobre Venezuela, secuestran al presidente constitucional de su país, lo presentan a los tribunales penales, violando todo el derecho internacional, con el silencio cómplice de la ONU.

Finalmente, vemos cómo el presidente de los Estados Unidos de América amenaza a los presidentes de Colombia, México, Cuba y Nicaragua con operaciones militares; además, le cambia el nombre al golfo de México, amenaza a Canadá, amenaza a Irán y, además, anuncia libremente por los medios que, si no puede comprar la isla de Groenlandia, la va a tomar por la fuerza y la ONU ni toma posición ni hace nada.

Por eso habría que preguntarse, ¿para qué sirve un organismo internacional, que debería funcionar como un árbitro para garantizar la calidad y la paz en la vida del mundo, cuando no tiene ni capacidad para tomar una posición?

La pregunta sería: ¿Hace falta un organismo como la ONU? Creo que en estos momentos hace más por el mundo el pueblo estadounidense, que se está enfrentando al totalitarismo de la máquina imperial, que los organismos internacionales pusilánimes, que no tienen la más mínima capacidad de tomar una opción real por la paz mundial.

One of the most terrible situations that the whole world faced in the 30s and 40s was the Second World War, the decline of existing empires and the birth of new empires.

However, the whole of humanity lived the madness of violence and generalized war, where, as a result of it, the almost complete genocide of populations, the destruction of countries, the creation of new countries by hand imposed by the winning powers, among many other situations were seen.

And in the midst of all the problems that there were, the nations decided to unite in the United Nations (UN), so that she would serve from that moment on as an arbiter in the game of nations' life, and thus avoid new conflicts, genocides and situations of risk for humanity and for some countries in conflicts.

But the current reality is that the UN, over the course of time, has been losing its role as an arbitrator and mediator, and in most cases of conflict, that international body, which should defend the law of nations, makes a sepulchral silence when those conflicts are provoked or touch the interests of the United States of America, a country that ended up becoming the hegemonic power for many years after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Then it remains for the whole of humanity to ask itself: What should be done when the arbitrator of international conflicts does not have the capacity to give an answer to the countries that make up it?

We have watched with terror how the government of Israel massacres and carries out an almost complete genocide of the Palestinian people, without the UN having taken a firm position in this situation. We have seen how the UN Secretary General was declared persona non grata and his visa was withdrawn from him and the UN staff in order to enter Israel.

We have seen how the United States of America not only supports the genocide of the Palestinian people, but also militarily supports Israel in a military attack on Iran, then attacks Nigeria and, finally, moves its troops and aircraft carriers to the Caribbean Sea, kills more than 100 people accusing them of narco-terrorists and committing war crimes, which are being tried under American law, while the UN does not take any real position.

We have also seen how the United States of America carried out an attack on Venezuela, kidnapped the constitutional president of his country, presented him to the criminal courts, violating all international law, with the complicit silence of the UN.

Finally, we see how the president of the United States of America threatens the presidents of Colombia, Mexico, Cuba and Nicaragua with military operations; in addition, he changes the name of the Gulf of Mexico, threatens Canada, threatens Iran and, moreover, freely announces through the media that, if he cannot buy the island of Greenland, he is going to take it by force and the UN neither takes a position nor does anything.

That is why we should ask ourselves, what is the purpose of an international body, which should function as an arbitrator to guarantee quality and peace in the life of the world, when it does not even have the capacity to take a position?

The question is, is there a need for a body like the UN? I think that at the moment the American people, who are facing the totalitarianism of the imperial machine, are doing more for the world than the faint-hearted international organizations, which do not have the slightest capacity to make a real choice for world peace.
