"The fact that I can't find the evidence doesn't mean there's no crime," murmured the private detective hired by Mrs. K.

It turns out that Mr. K. is a serial womanizer, and his wife had grown tired of being the center of gossip and pitying glances at the club.

Even though she no longer loved her husband, Mrs. K. did not want an unfavorable divorce.

If she could manage to gather proof of her husband's infidelities, she would have leverage that might ease the daily humiliation she lived in.

That is why she was not willing to accept "I can't find the evidence" as an answer.

El hecho de que no encuentre la evidencia no significa que no haya crimen, murmuró el detective privado contratado por la señora K.

Resulta que el señor K. es un mujeriego serial, y su esposa se cansó de ser el centro de los chismes y las miradas de lástima en el club.
