Greetings everyone, this time I made a #fanart about the assasain skeleton of @splinterlands game with different sketch type poses and character design, including this way my style and interpretation of the character. Reading a bit about the character's charter I saw that it was someone like a servant. that's why samurais and a bit of this type of personality came to my mind. I thought about this when I was at a friend's house and together he told me something like “I used to practice kendo” so we made some reference for this fanart.
At the moment this and the rest of the digital drawings I'm doing them from my phone in the Ibis Paint App and with my fingers. Using resources of the app for the different works
this is my friend, we tried to do a little samurai pose and we thought it would be great to make a uniform for the skeleton, with the same colors and giving it a touch of its own but before that there is the sketch and the specific poses.
When I had these three poses: one in the reference pose, a chibi and a dramatic one i started to erase this lineart to blend it with the painting and get a little #realistic effect as is my style. i was kinda doing a layer for every color but separated, by this i mean that i was doing all the faces in one layer, the samurai clothes in another etc.
Starting the #painting, I used a base tone as usual and on top of that layer i kept doing color in individual layers, such as the uniform, the skull, shoes etc. to keep it in order and using the colors of the reference too, wich are very similar to the ones used by the original character.in this way it looks a little more uniform.
Normally i use the same brushes but with this #Fanart i wanted to experiment using some ibis paint brushes that you can find in the #Pinterest #App. i downloaded them and start to paint with them. its very useful when it has texture on it or a print. That makes working on the phone a bit easier.
i don´t really have an order to use them but i like to let the ones that have more texture for the final details or on top of the basic layers.
Here, after finishing the drawing, I added some light effects with the multiply setting, a gray background to highlight the color palette I used and a black shadow that I wanted to put behind with one of the texture brushes, trying to make that effect that artists usually do to highlight something in their sketchbooks.
There are a lot of cards and characters in spliterlands, but this one specifically caught my attention. I quite like the design of the cards although this time I decided to do it with this format I would like to try making some cards with other characters for the future.
