Finally there is "Anastasia", which is in quotes because it is actually revealed that, due to the battle against the archbishops, the artificial spirit Echidna took control of Anastasia's body and is unable to return it to the original owner.

It's very curious to think that they are all going to one of the most dangerous places in the work, where no one was successful and they didn't have any more "firepower" to follow in the story. After all, Subaru has limited mana to use Beatrice's powers, Julius can't use the spirit's powers, Echidna can't use magic if she doesn't end up using Anastasia's life. The worst of all is that they decide to take Rem, who cannot move, to a place where there is no information and that not even Reinhard could find. A very complicated situation.

All this preparation for the desert was basically very strange and full of plot holes, like why didn't they wait for Reinhard to escort the archbishop and then ask for help so he could travel to the tower to find the Sage? Why take Rem on this trip, which ended up being a major source of concern for Ram and Subaru?

It's as if they were betting all their chips on a game that they don't even know the rules of. And this is quite literal, because upon arriving at the tower there were several rules that could not be broken, not to mention a hidden rule that has not yet been disclosed in the anime. All of this ends up being the reasons that lead to one of the worst arcs in history for Subaru.

Before even arriving at the tower, the protagonist already returns 2 to 3 times. And when he enters he manages to pass the first challenge easily, but then when he finds the guardian it seems to be a wall with no option to pass. The worst thing is that in order to try to win the room with guardian Reid, Subaru has the brilliant idea of ​​finding the book and soon after appears without the memories of everything he went through in the world of rezero. With a little more history we come to the famous staircase scene, in which after being pushed down the stairs, Subaru no longer trusts anyone and finds himself ready to discover the truth through the books of the dead!

This is one of the moments in which Subaru found itself in such despair that it is precisely an IF point. In the IF story of gluttony, Subaru is consumed by the sin of gluttony which would be the desire to know the truth by devouring the memories of his companions and to do so he decides to kill everyone who knew the "former Subaru Natsuki"...

A season 4 de começa com o grupo da emilia e do subaru, junto da "anastasia" e do cavaleiro dela o Julius, se preparando para ir até o deserto atrás do sábio, buscando algumas respostas. Depois dos acontecimentos na cidade de Pristella, com diversas pessoas transformadas em moscas gigantes e uma em um dragão gigante, não havia ninguém que soubesse como salvar essas pessoas, por isso elas foram congeladas até que uma resposta fosse descoberta, essa é o primeiro motivo.

Além do motivo de salvar as pessoas, no caso do Subaru ele busca o conhecimento do Sábio para que resolvesse o problema da Rem, que teve a memória de todos sobre ela apagada e estava em um estado "congelada", ainda viva, mas em um tipo de sono profundo. Um motivo parecido é o que move o Julius para encontrar o sábio, porque em seu caso, a memória de todos desapareceu, mas ele ainda se lembra. Por fim tem a "Anastasia", que está entre aspas porque na verdade é revelado que na verdade, por conta da batalha contra os arcebispos, o espírito artificial Echidna assumiu o controle do corpo da Anastasia e não consegue devolver para a dona original.

É bem curioso pensar que todos eles estão indo para um dos lugares mais perigosos da obra, em que ninguém teve êxito e não levaram mais nenhum "poder de fogo" para acompanhar na história. Afinal o Subaru tem mana limitada para usar os poderes da Beatrice, o Julius não pode usar os poderes do espírito, a Echidna não pode usar magia se não acaba utilizando a vida da Anastasia. O pior de tudo é que eles resolvem levar a Rem que não pode se mexer para um lugar que não se tem nenhuma informação e que nem mesmo o Reinhard conseguiu. Uma situação bem complicada.

Todo esse preparo para o deserto foi basicamente bem estranho e cheio de furos de roteiro, como porque não esperaram o Reinhard escoltar a arcebispa e depois pediram ajuda para ele ir na viagem até a torre encontrar o Sábio? Porque levar a Rem nessa viagem, que acabou sendo uma grande fonte de preocupação para a Ram e o Subaru?

É como se eles estivessem apostando todas as fichas em um jogo que não sabem nem as regras. E isso é bem literal, porque ao chegar na torre tinham várias regras que não podiam ser quebras, sem contar uma regra oculta que ainda não foi divulgada no anime. Tudo isso acaba sendo os motivos que levam para um dos piores arcos da história para o Subaru.

Antes mesmo de chegar na torre o protagonista já volta umas 2 à 3 vezes. E ao entrar ele consegue passar do primeiro desafio facilmente, mas depois quando encontram o guardião parece ser uma muralha sem opção para passar. O pior é que para tentar conquistar o andar com o guardião Reid, o Subaru tem a brilhante ideia de encontrar o livro e logo depois aparece sem as memórias de tudo que passou no mundo de rezero. Com mais um pouco de história chegamos na famosa cena da escada, em que depois de empurrado da escada, Subaru não confia mais em ninguém e se vê pronto para descobrir a verdade através dos livros dos mortos!

Esse é um dos momentos em que o Subaru se encontrou em um desespero tão grande que é justamente um ponto de IF. Na história do IF da gula, Subaru é consumido pelo pecado da gula que seria a vontade de saber a verdade devorando as memórias dos companheiros e para isso ele resolve matar todos que conheciam o "antigo Subaru Natsuki"...
