Just Watched AOT and well? A Review.

I still don’t hype about this anime. I mean, I know it’s a classic and all, but… where exactly does it get that interesting?

And yeah, I’m talking about the OG anime, everyone’s favorite, Attack on Titan.

AOT has a good story, no doubt. I’ve only seen Season 1 so far, and even though it’s old, it still hits harder than a lot of new anime. That twist with Annie being the female titan? Wild. Didn’t see that coming at all.

What I like is how it keeps you guessing, there's always this tension. You kinda want to know what happens next, even if you’re not fully obsessed. And Eren? Classic main character syndrome. Always trying to save everyone, yelling about ā€œexterminating all titans.ā€ Lol.

Also, tell me I’m not the only one that thinks there’s more between Eren and Mikasa? That can’t just be family vibes. But honestly, that moment at the end of Season 1, when a titan face pops out of the wall? That scene alone made me want to dive into Season 2 immediately.

And we can’t leave out Armin. The guy might not throw punches, but when it comes to strategy? He’s a silent MVP.

I just hope all that titan power doesn’t turn Eren into something weird later.

What I Loved and Didn’t

AOT’s plot is solid, but Season 1 kinda drags sometimes. They talk too much. Like I get it, world-building and all that, but some of those scenes could’ve been way shorter and still made sense.

Also, the animation felt weird at times. There were scenes that looked more like a slideshow than an anime, just stiff frames and voiceovers. I’m hoping the animation levels up in later seasons.

Some characters also felt weak, like, too many people just die randomly. But I guess that’s part of what makes it unpredictable. Nobody’s really safe.

Now Levi… Levi’s a whole different level. The moment he shows up, you already know it’s about to get serious. And tell me I’m not the only one who thinks him and Mikasa are somehow related? Their fighting style is almost identical, quick, precise, and that same calm and deadpan look. Too smooth.

The Influence on Me

AOT basically taught me not to have a favorite character, they just die 😭. But still… Levi. Can’t help it. His energy is too strong.

It also made me way more curious. Like, I’ve been fighting the urge to look up spoilers, but it’s so hard. You want to know what’s coming, but also don’t wanna ruin it.

Standout Performance

Levi and Mikasa are both top-tier, no debate. But if I had to pick one…

It’s gotta be him. Too iconic. Doesn’t even need to try too hard. Aura alone handles everything.

My Rating

8/10. The story? Strong. The animation? Hmm… could be better. But I’m definitely watching Season 2. Let's hope it's a bit better.

In my opinion, it is one of the best stories in anime, if not the best. It really is crazy šŸ’“šŸ˜.

To understand it you must be attentive to all the dialogues, even if you don't like them very much. It is a story that can easily be misunderstood by casuals. I hope you can watch it all, but if you read the whole manga, much better.

I've also heard that reading the manga is way better and more explanatory. The thing about watching the anime is, they place this whole story, which is important to the movie, after each episode, but why would I squint my eyes that bad to read a storyline they could have explained in the anime?

I'm committed to watching it to the end, though.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment!

Adaptations will never be like manga, as they tend to omit things that are important in the end. For that reason the ideal is always to read the manga and then enjoy the adaptation.

However, you can focus only on the anime if you don't want to read the manga, I think that if you pay enough attention to it, you can also understand the story because at the end of the day it was a good job they did.

AOT was one of the earliest anime I watched. It got me hooked.
You're correct about calling it a classic

Eren jaeger was so powerful although it hurts that he was made the villain at the end. So sad.
