My Wednesday Walk: A Visit To Nnamdi Azikiwe Statue Inside UNIZIK

Happy Wednesday Walk everyone!

For today's walk, I took a stroll inside our school, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

This place is inside the school beside Beautiful Gates. Many of us pass there every day, but today I decided to stop and really look.

First photo: This is the statue of Nnamdi Azikiwe, the great man our school is named after. He is standing on a small green and white platform in the middle of the road divider. He is wearing his agbada and raising his hand like he is greeting. Behind him you can see fine green trees and grasses. The sky was cloudy and about to rain. The road curb is painted red with black and white.

Second photo: I took another angle. You can see the whole statue clearly now, the tall street light beside it, and the long road. The place was very quiet that evening. At far end you could see few people walking and a blue shuttle bus. It was peaceful and cool.

Third photo: On my way back, I looked up and snapped this tall tree. The sky was dark with clouds. You can see a man in purple walking past and the red UBA sign at the corner. The wind was blowing the leaves small small.

What I enjoyed:

  • I finally stopped to appreciate the statue of the man our school is named after.
  • The evening air was cool and calm because of the cloudy weather.
  • Walking inside school like this made me feel proud to be a UNIZIK student.

That was my short walk for today.

Where did you walk today?
