Spring stroll in Kirkcaldy past Ingolstadt

Hello Hello Hivers, Hivians and any other wonderful being who has stumbled onto this!

Yesterday, I had to run some errands in town. I got outside and saw the gorgeous bits of blue in the sky. We had a bit of sun again.

Nice day for a wee walk!

I have missed flowers and signs of life!

Just look at these bonnie wee flowers!

Flowering Currant ...

... likely Ribes sanguineum, which is a popular deciduous shrub known for its clusters of pink or red flowers in spring.

image.png

It seems it has been forever since I took some close up nature pics, well I know it has been sometime last year!

Can you believe we are in April already?

And that is no fluffing joke!

Past the Town Hall I had to go, they used to fly the Ukraine flag, I see it is not there.. Not good.

This model is interesting ....

Ingolstadt is the twin of our town, Kirkcaldy

This plaque details the history of a replica model of Ingolstadt created by Jakob Sandtner.

Jakob Sandtner created five large city models for Duke Albrecht V between 1568 and 1574, depicting Straubing, Munich, Landshut, Ingolstadt, and Burghausen.

The original models reside in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich.
This specific replica of the Ingolstadt model was crafted by the Sepp Mißlbeck company in the 1980s.

The model was gifted by the city of Ingolstadt to its twin town, Kirkcaldy, to celebrate their 60th anniversary of partnership.

It is still in one piece which is good to see...

Spring is at the square..

Not much wind though.

I should really find out who this statue is of!

image.png

On the way tot the bus station you walk past The Hive which is the towns LGBT+ centre

image.png

That is what I got when I mentioned HIVE to a few people here. We really do have a name problem amongst many other things ...

image.png

How the fluff do you get into the Hospital?

Do you see it ... the sign and nothing to push haha!

image.png

And there we have it. That is my walk a Wednesday walk which happened to be yesterday on Tuesday but I did look up to see what was around me. Anyway, have a good one.

Some beautiful flowers out there, are those the currants that turn into the edible berries later in the year? I'm glad to see some blue sky out there for you, it sure beats the gray and the rain! It would be interesting to know who has their own statute there, although it sure is badly maintained.

Back in those days it must have paid well to plan villages, he probably took home some nice coin for designing five at once. It is pretty cool to see what is was like from the original design, although most of the original building are probably long since replaced or upgraded.

Looks like a good walk, and I hope you and the Mrs. are doing well!

Spring days like this when there isn't much wind is kind of rare. We had some big storms last night and the temps dropped back down into the Winter range for a bit.

Where did that blue sky go! Back to rain and misery today! I managed to sleep through most of yesterday, losing an hour over the weekend, combined with Nightshift and some Monday morning commitments, scunnered me! Glad I've managed to sneek in some Hive time today, although I can't see me visting 'The Hive' any time soon !LOLZ
