RE: Night Walk By The River, Snacks, Couples and The Balangay Boat

I love boats and history, we learn so much about our ancestors through history and our cultures, so yes I hope they do more to promote the city and region.
Love this walk and you are right, when we have younger ones to associate with it helps keep us younger!
Oh yes I used to eat chicharon in Spain with a few beers lol. In the UK we call it pork scratchings!
Great night time walk with the family and how cool is your wee niece helping you out like that, she is your mini me now!

It was a great night walk, and I would love to go there in the daytime soon. Yes, history is that Ferdinand Magellan, the great explorer, docked near Masao and had the first mass there, but the first mass was already debunked as having happened in Mazaua instead of in Limasawa. Nevertheless, he went there, and the balangay boat was the first ever boat used for trading in the city. That made the LGU claim when there was no Philippines, there was Butuan. 'Chicharron' with beer—a perfect pair.

You guys have such a rich maritime history and I know so many of our boats here have some filipino crew.
Now you have me looking about Butuan. And you now I will get you having a beer yet.
