A frosty stroll in the local Beveridge Park

Hello Hello Hivers, Hivians and any other wonderful being who has stumbled onto this!

Jack Frost was out in full force a wee while ago. We don't really get snow in this part of the country.

In fact, we rarely get frost being as that we are on the coast. So when we do it is fun to have a wee walk and enjoy what Jack Frost left behind for us to enjoy!

So we go back to Friday 16th July 2026.

The frozen Rose Garden

Not sure if the roses are hibernating or dead, and am sure will find out in the spring. They used to be big bushes, but the council chopped them down and it is more like a Rose minigarden now!

The frozen boating pond

I would not venture on the ice, that is for sure!

image.png

Squirrel Point

Before they chopped down this tree it was home to a squirrel or two and Mrs T and I would feed them. We still do, but now put it in the bushes on the left.

image.png

As you can see from the numerous naked trees we are in full on winter mode!

There is something serene and calming about frost on grass I think.

Pondlife

Of course I fed the ducks...

image.png

... appropriately Chalky the white duck was there

image.png

After feeding them all including the two swans it was time to feed the land birds.

image.png

Too cold to sit!

image.png

So quiet compared to summer.

image.png

Lavender city

These beds are full of lavender and it is buzzing with bees in the summer.

Having a wee play with filters...

The original...

image.png

... Filtered version

I think I prefer this one, it pops more?

image.png

Follow that path!

image.png

If you want warming up, then why not give it a go on the gym equipment!

Well I was on the way to the grocery shop!

image.png

The building on the right is the refurbished gate lodge and is now a local kindergarten!

image.png

Right we need to skedaddle!

This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.

Wow! You can feel the cold in the air just by looking at your beautiful photos.

This tree looks like it has faces in it at first glance. Kind of freaky. No wonder the squirrel lived in it. Nobody would want to mess with him in it.

Everything's frozen? I want to see and experience something like that even ONCE! Haha. You could experience it during winter deason ha, i'm kinda jealous. I so love every photos in there. The frosty surroundings gives an amazing effect in everything there. And that raw and filtered photo, I actually preferred the original. It has that mysterious or thrilling kind of effect in it, especially those trees, its really more noticeable coz they don't have leaves. Uwu

Even though the weather is cold, the view is still very beautiful.

It looks pretty with all white surroundings. I hope all the plants are just hibernating and wake again in summer😬😌

July 2026? How's the cold treating your bones, Ed?!! Those images are incredible, especially the ones of the trees. Their branches look like winter's nervous system. Don't you think? I imagine that if you stand under them, their branches look like neuron dendrites. Nature is beautiful and incredible. A hug full of sunshine.
