Happy Wednesday Hivers. I was curious about the Wednesday Walk because my friends had been talking about it, and I'd seen some of them posting about it. I tried to find out more. Now I understand that the "Wednesday Walk" is a walking challenge. It sounds interesting, but also a bit daunting to me. I rarely have time to exercise, with my online teaching schedule (6 AM to 9 or 10 PM classes). My free time is usually spent catching up on housework, and honestly, sometimes I just need to sleep.

But the challenge appealed to me. I felt motivated to get some much-needed exercise and explore my surroundings, so I decided to give it a try.

Last week, I convinced my son and daughter to join me for a walk on Kaamulan Park. We set off with our cameras, eager to see what we could discover. It was more exciting than I anticipated.

It was a longer walk than I expected, over a kilometer. The scenery was amazing.
There were so many plants, and tall pine trees (plenty of them), and the rocks were cool.

A few days later, we did a shorter walk around the neighborhood. Still good exercise.

Today is Wednesday, so back to Kaamulan Park. We took a similar route but explored some new areas. We saw some newly built statues. They looked like they had stories to tell. And we saw people getting ready for the Kamulan Festival (March or April, I think). They were building those Nipa huts. At the entrance, there's this huge golden statue – it represents the seven tribes in our province. Pretty impressive.

I kept stopping to take pictures. We passed this neat Nipa hut, a tiny (kubo) hut that looked ancient. The birds were singing their heads off. Wish I'd gotten a picture of them.

Even though it was a long walk, I didn't feel tired because I was so busy looking at everything.

We saw tons of beautiful wildflowers too – some were the same ones I see for sale in the city, but seeing them growing wild was special.

That's all for today. See you again on my next Wednesday walk.
