A few days ago, we had to go to the Hacienda Santa Barbara Shopping Center in Usaquén for a doctor’s appointment. When we left, we walked through the Lumina building, a movie theater complex adjacent to the shopping center, and that’s where the walk I want to share with you for this #WednesdayWalk begins.
Right as we exited the building, we came across these two colorful murals depicting two movie classics.

I thought both murals were beautiful, but my favorite was, without a doubt, the one from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Maybe it’s because it’s one of my all-time favorite classic romantic movies. I love the character of Holly Golightly, and Audrey Hepburn was one of my favorite actresses. Have you watch the movie?

We walked along some quiet streets on our way to Usaquén Park.
In the distance, we could see the church tower across from the park.

We walked past this building, which caught my eye. It’s a Mediterranean restaurant, and it stands out because its facade is a little different from that of other buildings in the area. It’s like a Mediterranean style facade in the middle of an Andean town.

We continued on to the corner until we reached the large plaza known as Usaquén Park.

Here's a view of the park. It was strange for me to see the place so quiet. It was a weekday morning, and every time we'd been to this part of the city before, it had been on the weekend when a famous flea market sets up in the streets surrounding the park, and it's usually quite crowded. So I enjoyed exploring the area amid the tranquility of the neighborhood.

The church was open, so I went inside, but they were holding Mass, so I respectfully left without taking any photos. This is the Church of Santa Bárbara de Usaquén.

One block from the church is Calle del Mensajero, which was inaugurated a few months ago.

I mentioned this street to you recently in the July “Topic of the Month” post on the Hive Collectors community, which was about benches. Because there, at the beginning of the street, is this beautiful bench.

The street known as Calle del Mensajero is barely a block long, but the shops, stores, and cafes there boast some beautiful and colorful facades.

I went back the way I had come; my husband was waiting for me in the park. On the way, I passed this fruit and vegetable delivery truck that had a tomato in flames painted on the rear doors. I wonder if the produce they deliver are all so hot, haha.

When we arrived at the park, we headed to the far end of the plaza to take a couple of photos with the Usaquén sign; we had to take advantage of the fact that we practically had the whole place for us.
