I think it's true that white background hurts the eyes more than your animated flashing smiley image. 🤔 You might write this down as a "benefit" of using that image. 😅
People also say that white background uses up more energy (especially on mobile devices with limited battery capacity). 🤯🤓

Exactly, which makes it all the funnier that so many devs default to white UIs. That's the very first thing I change, instant dark mode. Yep, it does use more energy. Dark mode should be the default, especially on mobile devices. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
