There are some crossover stories: that of a real case of massacre of an indigenous people by a poisoned whale, and that of a legend of another native people about a land whale. But I would say that the theme of the poem is multiplicity and consciousness. Anyway, I love that other meanings appear that I didn't see in my own poem.
