Hi there. How are you? I hope you are doing great. Welcome to my Post. Below, you will find-
On Tuesday, I walked on the treadmill for 2 times. At first, I walked for 15 minutes after lunch. The second treadmill walk was made between 9:30 pm to 10 pm. It was another 15-minute walk. This 30-minute walk helped me reach 12,400 steps in the day (according to the Fitbit app).
In the morning, I slept for a second round. In the afternoon, I intended to have an afternoon nap, but I couldn't. My elder kid had two online classes- Quran class and English class. I accompanied him in both classes. In the night, I went to bed after 11 pm.
At work, I consulted 30 patients in my chamber. There was no emergency case. In the visa medical section, many people came for the fitness test. I had to examine a major part of them.
I have a regular patient with an anxiety disorder. Every few months, he visits me just to talk. He doesn't even allow me to check his pulse and BP!! He mostly suffers from upper abdominal pain. But he also feels pain all over his body. For the problems, he even did a gastroscopy, along with many other tests in different hospitals. In the end, he was only given a PPI. It appears that when he takes a PPI, all of his problems subside.
A young man came for a follow-up. In the last month, it was his third visit. The previous 2 times, he visited another doctor. As that doctor was off on Tuesday, he came to me. It was a urinary tract infection. He was given a pretty long course of antibiotics. After finishing the course, this time, he came to repeat the test. The report still revealed a few pus cells. I suggested continuing antibiotics for a few more days. I also told him to drink more than what he wasn't doing at all! An interesting matter was that he refused to take the printed report with him. He was afraid that if his father found out this, it would be a big problem at home!! Something fishy!!
Besides Random blood sugar (RBS), fasting blood sugar (FBS), and Post-Prandial blood sugar (PPBS), we have another reliable test to diagnose DM. The first three tests provide a snapshot of blood sugar levels at that particular time. On the other hand, HbA1c indicates the average sugar level over the previous three months!
Hemoglobin is a protein in the red blood cells (RBCs), and its primary role is to bind with oxygen and carry it. But it also binds to glucose in both diabetic and non-diabetic individuals. Hence, the value of this glycated hemoglobin gives us the idea of blood sugar over a long period.
The normal range of HbA1c is <5.7% (According to some expert bodies, it is <6%). If the level reaches 6.5% or above, it is considered diabetes. If a person's value of HbA1c is between 5.7% to 6.4%, he/she is considered pre-diabetic!

It seems that you didn't have a moment of rest.
It's interesting how some patients trust you so much that they just want to talk, like the case of the patient with anxiety.
And about the young man with a urinary tract infection, what a peculiar situation with his fear of reporting.
I hope everything is resolved well for both of us.

I guess, he finds comfort in my words :)
The young man committed something wrong. Hence, he is worried!
