From AI Shortcuts to Downvotes: How to Actually Survive on Hive

Perhaps it was yesterday or the day before; I was browsing through blogs on @ecency as usual when @intishar’s post, Most of Newbies Leave Hive. Why?, caught my eye. He explained everything in his own perspective, and now I am going to share it in my own words.

Where Does the Mistake Lie?

Often, when newcomers join Hive, they have only one thing on their mind: quickly post anything and start earning right away. There is no doubt that earnings come from putting effort into writing blogs here, but the most important thing is that the blog is written in your own natural voice.

Nowadays, the biggest issue is that people look for shortcuts. Some rely on AI to generate text within seconds, while others copy-paste content from elsewhere. In this rush, a person loses their genuine voice and starts depending on someone else's words. Hive is certainly decentralized—there is no single owner sitting at the top—but that does not mean there is no accountability.

Experienced and responsible members on the platform keep an eye on both newcomers and veterans alike. If someone resorts to plagiarism or AI abuse, they are first given a polite warning to get their act together. But when someone treats that warning as a joke and keeps repeating the same mistake, a downvote storm begins. The consequence is twofold: first, the user's reputation drops completely to zero, and second, they alienate the very peers who used to engage and chat with them in the comments section.

Only those who know how to write in their own words truly survive on Hive. You don't need to be a grand intellectual. You can simply share your daily morning-to-evening routine—here I would mention my friend Muhammad Usama (@al-hamad), who does exactly that. Talk about a challenge you are facing or share a couple of honest thoughts on any topic, and the community will respect it from the heart. People come here to read a real human being; there is no place for imitations. Stick to your authenticity—that is where real respect and success lie.

Many newcomers believe that "you can make money here by doing just about anything," but the reality is quite the opposite. Your own words are valued here, not words generated by AI or written by someone else.

شاید کل یا پرسوں کی بات ہے میں معمول کے مطابق @ecency کے ذریعے سے لوگوں کے بلاگز پڑھ رہا تھا کہ اچانک @intishar کا بلاگ Most of Newbies Leave Hive. Why? میرے سامنے آیا، انہوں نے اپنے انداز میں سب کچھ بیان کیا اب میں اپنے الفاظ میں کرنے جا رہا ہوں۔

غلطی کہاں ہے؟

اکثر جب نئے لوگ ہائیو پر آتے ہیں، تو وہ بس ایک ہی چکر میں ہوتے ہیں کہ جلدی سے کچھ بھی پوسٹ کرو اور ارننگ شروع ہو جائے۔ اس بات میں کوئی شک نہیں کہ یہاں محنت سے بلاگ لکھ کر ہی ارننگ ہوتی ہے، مگر سب سے اہم بات یہ ہے کہ وہ بلاگ آپ کے اپنے قدرتی انداز میں لکھا گیا ہو۔

آج کل سب سے بڑا مسئلہ یہ بن چکا ہے کہ لوگ شارٹ کٹ ڈھونڈتے ہیں۔ کوئی AI کا سہارا لے کر سیکنڈوں میں تحریر لکھوا لیتا ہے، تو کوئی دوسروں کا مواد اٹھا کر کاپی پیسٹ مار دیتا ہے۔ اس چکر میں بندہ اپنی اصل آواز کھو بیٹھتا ہے اور کسی اور کے الفاظ پر انحصار کرنے لگتا ہے۔ ہائیو ڈی سینٹرلائزڈ ضرور ہے، یہاں کوئی ایک مالک نہیں بیٹھا، مگر اس کا یہ مطلب ہرگز نہیں کہ یہاں کوئی پوچھنے والا نہیں۔

پلیٹ فارم پر پرانے اور ذمہ دار لوگ ہر نئے اور پرانے دونوں پر نظر رکھے ہوئے ہوتے ہیں۔ اگر کوئی نقل یا AI کا استعمال کرے، تو پہلے اسے عزت سے وارننگ دی جاتی ہے کہ "سنبھل جاؤ"۔ لیکن جب کوئی اس وارننگ کو مذاق سمجھ کر بار بار وہی غلطی دہراتا رہے، تو پھر ڈاؤن ووٹس کی بارش شروع ہو جاتی ہے۔ اس کا نقصان یہ ہوتا ہے کہ ایک تو بندے کی "ریپوٹیشن بالکل صفر" جاتی ہے، اور دوسرا وہ ساتھی بھی دور ہو جاتے ہیں جو کل تک آپ کے ساتھ بیٹھتے تھے اور کمنٹس میں بات چیت کرتے تھے۔

ہائیو پر وہی بندہ ٹکتا ہے جو اپنے الفاظ میں لکھنا جانتا ہو۔ آپ کو کوئی لمبا چوڑا دانشور بننے کی ضرورت نہیں۔ آپ صبح سے شام تک کی اپنی عام روٹین شیئر کر دیں، یہاں میں اپنے ایک دوست محمد اسامہ (@al-hamad) کو مینشن کروں گا جو بالکل ایسا ہی کرتا ہے۔ اپنے کسی مسئلے پر بات کر لیں یا کسی بھی موضوع پر اپنے دو سچے بول لکھ دیں، کمیونٹی اس کی دل سے عزت کرے گی۔ لوگ یہاں انسان کو پڑھنے آتے ہیں، نقل کی یہاں کوئی جگہ نہیں، اپنی سچائی کے ساتھ چلیں، اسی میں عزت اور کامیابی ہے۔

بہت سے نئے آنے والے لوگ یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ "یہاں کچھ بھی کرکے پیسے کمائے جاسکتے ہیں"، مگر حقیقت اس کے برعکس ہے۔ یہاں آپ کے اپنے الفاظ کی قدر کی جاتی ہے نا کہ اے آئی یا کسی اور کے لکھے گئے الفاظ کی۔

آپ کی نظر میں کوئی ایسا شخص ہے جو سادہ الفاظ لکھنے کے باوجود یہاں کافی عرصہ سے لکھ رہا ہے؟
