POLITE AT FIRST UNTIL HITTING THE SCAM TARGET ___WEEK 240 EP1

Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share my experience with scammers. This thing pain me till today, and when I saw this topic, I said I must share my story.

It happened last year. I was looking for where to buy good human hair for my birthday. I was scrolling on Facebook and I saw one page. The page was fine, they had many pictures, many followers, even many likes and comments. They were selling bone straight hair, 14 inches for 150k. In market, that hair is like 900k, so I was happy that I saw cheap one.

I chatted the vendor. Her name was like "Luxe Hair Empire". She was replying fast, very polite. She even did voice note for me. She said the hair is on promo, that I should pay today before promo ends. She said delivery is free and it will come in 2 days.

I asked her, is this hair original? She said yes, that many people have bought and she can send me testimonies. She sent me many screenshots of customers praising her. I believed her.

She sent me account number. I transferred150,000 naira to her because I wanted to look good for my birthday.

After I paid, she said, "We have received your payment, your hair will be dispatched tomorrow morning." I was happy.

Next day, I chatted her, she said hair is already in transit. Second day, I chatted her, she said driver will call me. I waited, no call. I chatted again, she said network problem.

Third day, I called her number, it was switched off. I went to her Facebook page, she has blocked me. I used my sister phone to check the page, the page still dey there, but all the pictures of hair are still there. She blocked me everywhere, WhatsApp and Facebook.

I was shocked. I started crying. 150k just like that. My birthday was in 3 days and I had no hair, no money.

I told my friend about it, she was angry. She said I told you, online vendors are scammers. I told my brother, he said I should go to bank and report. I went to bank, they said once money don enter, they cannot reverse it unless police report. I went to police station, they said I should write statement and pay 5k for tracking. I did not have any money again plus the stress.

I went to true caller to track her number, the name showing was different man name, not even the fine girl picture she was using.

Till today, I never recover the money. The 35k went like that. I had to borrow another wig from my cousin for my birthday.

How I handled it? I learned lesson in hard way. Now I don't pay before delivery for any online vendor I don't know. I will prefer to pay on delivery, or I go to market myself. And I always video call the vendor before paying.

This scam taught me that not everything cheap is good. If price is too cheap, you should check well.

Please, my brothers and sisters on Hive, be careful with online vendors. Especially on Facebook and Instagram. Many of them are using fine pictures to scam us. Always ask for video call, always ask for real review, and don't rush to pay.
