RE: Addiction: More Than Just a Personal Choice

Oh dear, it takes much more than intentionality to overcome addiction. Most addicts don’t even believe they’re under the influence of anything. Maybe a rehab facility would do the trick. 😂

I wish I could throw my dad into one for a couple of months. He doesn’t even realize he’s addicted to taking pills. He literally can’t go a day without popping one. Mind you, these aren’t even prescribed by a physician.

You are darn right! I mean, it's the reason I mentioned support from one's community because people tend to ignore the relevance in cases of addictions. I believe therapy is what helps most people later believe they're addicted.

I'm so sorry about your dad. Most times, it's just a way of coping and most of these older guys are used to self-medication. It's quite a problem. I do hope he overcomes it somehow.

What else do you think helps addiction though?

Nice to see you here again, btw! I hope you'll keep posting.🫂❤️

I really don’t know what else can help addiction apart from conscious abstinence.

Thank you my love. It feels great to be back and yes, I'll keep posting.☺️
