I'll tell you that there was a time when plots of land on the moon were sold. There was also a woman in Spain who patented ownership of the sun and then tried to enforce her legal rights. Of course, there was no way for the legal claim to use the sun to prosper.

Ancient civilizations were more technically advanced than what we are taught today; advanced surgical medical techniques existed in Ancient Egypt, during the time of the pharaohs.

The topic of extraterrestrials is also quite interesting. I've always followed it closely, and it provides much material for writing and commentary. But it obscures the technological capabilities of ancient times; everything achieved in ancient times is attributed to more advanced beings.
