This will be a sequential compilation of the whole process of IMO Odourless Pig House , as the work progress I will keep you updated., our Company (Oluwaseuny Home Contractor) was contracted to carry out the constructive portion of the project. This Work Site is located behind Landmark University, Omu-Aran, a town in Kwara State, Nigeria.
We starter off by Pegging the Building Plan, it's designed in a face-me face-you manner with a corridor in-between the 5 aside roo, making it to be 10 rooms in total. Each of the first eight opposing rooms were sized 10ft by 10ft, while the last two room opposing each other were sized. 20ft by 10ft, with a corridor of 4ft in-between the opposing rooms.
Digging came first,we started digging adhering strictly to the pegged plan, we dig the four corners first, after which we dig the corridors and lastly we dug the cuttings in-between the rooms. Digging wasn't so easy due consistent rain this day, the site was water logged.
Next inline was Casting with concrete and Block Setting, Sharp Sand with Gravel has already been supplied by Tipper while Cement has been bought. We mixed a proportion of Sharp Sand with cement and gravel, the ratio was 10 bucket of Sharp Sand to 1 bag of Cement and 7 bucket of Gravel was added to such mixture. So assuming we want to mix 5-bags of Cement, that will be 5-bags of cement to 60-buckets of Sharp Sand and 35-bucket of Gravel.
We couldn't add Water to the mixture above due to the waterlogged state of the dugged land, so we poured the mixture(Cement,Sharp Sand and Gravel) raw as it is into the dugged place, the water sipping out add the moisture need while we tap and control it to taste with Ranging Pole, Hand-trowel and Shovel, Line.
When the concrete has solified to some extent, we started Setting and Forming of Bricks to bring out the shape and pattern we ve dugged out from onset. Then we mixed up a proportion of shocking sand with cement and water to shock in-between the bricks (20-buckets of Shocking Sand to 1-bags of Cement) formed,we used our Hand-Trowel with Shocking-Wood and Plum to do this.
That was the site work for this week, we hope to continue from where we stopped by Monday God's willing, amen.

I am also interested on how you would make an "Odorless Pig Pen", this is my first time reading about this. It makes me even interested as odor is one of the main problem we have to consider when we make our own pig pen.
Also, it is interesting to see that you have a bit different construction techniques from ours. I might learn a thing or two.
Can't wait to see the final result.
Keep on building. 😊
