Well, I think voting should not be forced; for one, the government should ensure that elections are free, fair, and credible. People don't vote because of the issues around voting, and forcing people to vote will not change anything. It is life-threatening for people in some places to come out to cast their votes, and because of that history, they stay away from voting.
Notwithstanding, as a citizen who is of age, it is important to participate in the electoral processes at least to try to change how everything is. Participation doesn't start and stop at voting; it goes beyond that. Until we are ready for a change, change will not happen.
Everyone ought to do their due diligence in political awareness and not leave it to the government; join a political party, and let's change the narrative together.
You've said well, we can only make change happens when we approach the situation differently.
