It's interesting to start the topic by thinking about what it means to be a vigilante, and one of the greatest examples we have is precisely the figure of Batman. As many may know, Batman is actually the “vigilante” name of Bruce Wayne, the heir to Wayne Industries, a giant in Gotham. After the loss of his parents, Bruce ended up dedicating both his life and part of his fortune to fighting crime in the city of Gotham, which among the animated cities is considered the most corrupt and violent, meaning that not even Batman - the hero of the preparation - can resolve the situation.
With this, we begin to answer the first question about what it means to be a vigilante based on this story. A hero, usually with a certain amount of money, willing to seek to transform the society around him by taking justice into his own hands. In the case of Batman, unlike what could happen to a “normal” person who possesses the necessary means, he received elite training from Ra’s al Ghul, who had vast experience in hand-to-hand combat and was a master of the arts of preparation.
Furthermore, Bruce, in addition to having the money, also had access to advanced technology through Wayne Industries that provided vehicles, intelligence, communication, armor, that is, all the equipment necessary to fight crime efficiently and with certain security.
However, I remember hearing a phrase in some series that Batman is not a great hero and the argument was quite interesting, because every time he manages to defeat the villain, he puts him in Arkan Asylum, which is the main prison/center for criminals in Gotham and they ALWAYS manage to escape from there, an example is Batman's biggest villain, the Joker has been arrested and escaped from there several times. This shows that being a vigilante, taking the law into your own hands, doesn't help if something more fundamental like the structure of a prison doesn't work.
How to impact society more?
Continuing a little further in this Batman universe, it is exactly because of the points presented above that I believe that Brune Wayne could have a much greater impact than Batman. Based on the assumption that the person would have similar financial conditions to Brune Wayne, they could do much more for society than fighting the city's crimes. The question here is to try to understand in which area you would have the greatest impact with your time and money, for example, have you ever imagined the level that Brune Wayne could reach if he dedicated himself more to the company instead of fighting crime, recovering and developing new equipment and accessories? He would have more availability to make his company more efficient and with that, many more resources.
It is precisely with this in mind that I do not believe that being a vigilante is the best path. I think that having this great fortune available, if it came from a company, dedication to it could bring more results or if it were a sum, the money could be invested. Therefore, with more resources, it would be much more impactful to help using the gains in philanthropic institutions and create structures that help with the pre-crime issue, which would be creating schools and courses so that the population can train themselves. The best thing is with this. does it in a way that makes it possible for the company to be positive, last a long time and impact more people, making it something beyond what a security guard would be able to do. So, instead of a vigilante with the idea of fighting crime as a hero, the best option would be a vigilante with the idea of a great administrator.

É interessante começar o tema pensando no que é ser um vigilante, e um dos maiores exemplos que temos é justamente a figura do Batman. Como muitos devem conhecer, Batman na verdade é o nome “vigilante” do Bruce Wayne, o herdeiro das industrias Wayne, uma gigante de Gothan. Depois da perda dos pais, Bruce acabou dedicando tanto a sua vida, como parte da sua fortuna em combater o crime na cidade de Gothan, que dentre as cidades das animações é considerada a mais corrupta e violenta, fazendo com que nem mesmo o Batman - heroi do preparo - consiga resolver a situação.
Com isso, começamos a responder a primeira questão sobre o que é ser um vigilante com base nessa história. Um heroi, geralmente com um certo dinheiro, disposto a buscar transformar a sociedade ao seu redor fazendo justiça com as próprias mãos. No caso do Batman, diferente do que poderia acontecer com uma pessoa “normal” que possua os meios necessários, ele recebeu um treinamento de elite de Ra’s al Ghul, que tinha vasta experiência em combate corpo a corpo e mestre das artes de preparo.
Além disso, Bruce além de possuir o dinheiro, tinha também acesso a uma avançada tecnologia por meio das indústrias Wayne que proporcionava veículos, inteligência, comunicação, armaduras, ou seja, todos os equipamentos necessários para combater o crime com eficiência e certa segurança.
Entretanto, lembro de ter ouvido uma frase em alguma série de que o Batman não é um grande heroi e o argumento foi até que interessante, porque toda vez ele vai consegue derrotar o vilão, coloca no Asilo Arkan, que é a principal cadeia/centro para criminoso de Gothan e eles SEMPRE consegue escapar de lá, um exemplo é o maior vilão do Batman, o Coringa já foi preso e fugiu de lá diversas vezes. Isso mostra que ser um justiceiro, fazendo justiça com as próprias mãos não adianda se algo mais fundamental como a estrutura de uma cadeia não funciona.
Como impactar mais a sociedade?
Continuando um pouco mais nesse universo do Batman, é exatamente pelos pontos apresentados anteriormente que eu acredito que o Brune Wayne poderia impactar muito mais do que o Batman. Partindo do pressusposto de que a pessoa teria condições financeiras semelhantes às do Brune Wayne, ela poderia fazer muito mais pela sociedade do que combater os crimes da cidade. A questão aqui é buscar entender em qual área você teria o maior impacto com o seu tempo e dinheiro, por exemplo, já imaginou o nível que o Brune Wayne poderia chegar se ele se dedicasse mais para a empresa ao em vez de lutar contra o crime, se recuperar e desenvolver novos equipamentos e acessórios? Ele teria mais disponibilizadade para tornar a empresa dele mais eficiência e com isso muito mais recursos.
É justamente pensando nessa linha que eu não acredito que ser um vigilante seja o melhor caminho. Penso que tendo essa grande fortuna disponível, se ela viesse de uma empresa, a dedicação nela poderia trazer mais resultados ou se fosse um montante, o dinheiro poderia ser investido. Dessa forma, com mais recursos seria muito mais impactante ajudar usando os ganhos em instituições filantrópicas e criar estruturas que ajudem na questão Pré-crime, que seria criar escolar e cursos para que a população consiga se capacitar. O melhor é que com isso. faz de uma forma que se torna possível da empresa ser positiva, durar um bom tempo e impactar mais pessoas, fazendo com que seja algo além do que um vigilante seria capaz de fazer. Assim, em vez de um vigilante na ideia de combater o crime como heroi, o melhor seria um vigilante na ideia de um grande administrador.
