THE ART OF SURVIVAL…

(edited)

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot LEARN, UNLEARN, and RELEARN… - Alvin Toffler

It wouldn’t have been easy entering a topic as crucial as this without any introductory punchline or a catchy phrase, which was why i had to toss this in to be able to blend in quickly and smoothly. Moreover, i haven’t been here in a long time because my academics have been taking more of my time than usual. It’s the final lap of the first phase, which means more workload and lesser time to get them all done…

Honestly, not being here for quite a while has made me a bit rusty. I didn’t know this until some minutes ago when I tried diving right into this topic without any leading edge. I realized I needed a bigger push for my writing skills to surface once again, and just like that i got it all back in no time. I guess it’s true when they say; the moment you stop doing that which you are good at or abandon it for some reason, it starts to leave you bit by bit until it becomes forgotten. To reclaim such knowledge once again will need an extra push, and for me, that phrase right up there was the push I needed. Anyways, that’s that about that, i’m here now and that’s all that matters. Now, let’s dive right into what I’ve got for you all today on the aspects of learning and unlearning…

Learning is hard, and unlearning is harder. Oh yeah, that’s the raw truth, and because I’m talking from experience. The end goal of learning any particular thing in life is to attain a whole different level of perfection in it. Now imagine how extremely difficult it would be to unlearn that particular thing it took you months or years of sacrifice and different levels of hard work to achieve. I don’t think it would be easy to do such, which is exactly why i said earlier that learning is hard and unlearning is harder…

If it was easy to unlearn things, then we would be living in a crime free society right now…

THAT ONE THING I’M LEARNING IN MY LIFE AT THE MOMENT…

Survival! Oh yeah, the art of survival is that one thing I’m learning right now in my life. Apart from this, I don’t want to learn anything else. If possible i’d like to unlearn so many other things right now, but then this so many other things are essential to me, they will be needed at some point in my journey through life, and that is exactly why i can’t unlearn them yet lol…

The art of survival is deeper than you think. If you haven’t experienced it firsthand, you won’t be able to understand the in-depth meaning. There’s more to surviving than walking, talking, and doing all sorts of things. Although, the end result of survival is to stay alive, regardless the circumstances and conditions. But then the requirements to live and survive are just what’s lacking. Imagine you breathing and not having either funds or foodstuffs as a student to live by, is that any different from being dead? Lol. And that is exactly why i say there’s more to survival than just breathing. You can be deadly alive, oh yes that’s very possible lol. You should see the movie walking dead to understand that phrase better…

Honestly, i’m so so tired of this guiding and unguiding cycle. The last time I experienced this cycle was about three years ago, and right now I’m experiencing that cycle again. What a deja vu!

Last year wasn’t as tough as this, even as a student. But then since this year started, it’s been a lot of bumps here and there, both virtually and in the real world, and that’s when I decided to incorporate the art of survival into that which I’m learning right now, or else a lot of things is going to go wrong 😂…

Honestly, if I eventually learn this skill 😂, i might never have to be in this position again for a third time, and that’s the fact…

In summary, learning the art of survival is very crucial at this point in time. It is going to go a long way after this phase is successfully over. It’s a skill each and every one of us would have to learn at some point in our life. Some come sooner, while for others it will be later. I guess mine came sooner, and just as you know it, the earlier the better…
