You are right about the 24h window and number of views... I can't remember why we did that 24h limit in the first place. To combat big upvotes for the rest of the 6 days?
Maybe it's not relevant anymore and we could get rid of it.. and prolong "life" of posts to at least 3-4 days, or a full week...

I think it was because first in got the best return from eveyone voting after and it didn't give a fair chance to smaller users if a big vote got in early. I believe it was also to try and encourage less autovoting and more manual voting. It worked in one way, but we now have a big scramble for the 24hr window instead.
