Embracing the ember months

When this year started, many people were very happy to have seen another year. New year wishes filled the air as celebration and joyfulness was found in every corner I went to. I was also very happy to have seen another year, however, my celebration didn't last for a long time because I knew that I had to keep going and not waste too much time celebrating.

Though it's been over 8 months I wished my family a happy new year, It actually feels like it was yesterday. No cap, this year flew so fast. Maybe it's a good thing, or maybe it's a bad thing. I don't know. I'm just glad that I'm living and I'm gradually moving towards achieving my dreams.

I have many things I wanted to do this year. Many people celebrated a new year, but I was at home, setting my new year resolution. The determination to do better that I had in my heart early this year was greater than anything I can imagine.

This post is one of my many posts of self reflection. Its an entry for hive learners prompt, The Ember Months. In this post, I will reflect on this year. I will share how it's been going for me. I will share a few goals I set for my self and whether or not I've achieved them. I will also share what I hope to achieve with the remaining months of the year.

One important thing I love doing is setting goals. I learnt many different ways to set and achieve my goals, and it's been helping my with my little growth over the years. I don't see myself as developed or successful which accounts for the reason why I don't really celebrate my small wins, or celebrate occasions. I tend to believe that unless I am financially free, there is no need to celebrate anything. However, lately, I've been asking myself.... At what point does a person becomes financially free? Does financial freedom only involves the ability to gain anything money can buy? I don't really think so.

This year has been a good and a bad year to me. The ups and downs are like a burning furnace that is shaping me for the inevitable future. The experience gotten from this year has really taught me a lot. Seems like the more experienced I get, the more silent I become and the colder my heart gets.

Not all my goals were achieved this year. I achieved my goals that had the highest priority. I got what I wanted. However, it's one thing to get what you want, but it is another to maintain control over what you got. Sometimes, it gets tough, however the tough terrain is what makes the journey interesting.

Though I have achieved a significant part of my goals, there are still a lot I want to do. I do get sleepless nights when I think of some things that I have not achieved yet. Welp, I can't rush it. Slow and steady, they say, wins the race.

We are already in September. I don't really have much expectations for the few months that is remaining. I think I will have to allow it go as it wants to go. All I think I will do for the remaining months, is to try to maintain and manage the goals I have already achieved. I will love to let them grow, and give me more than what I expected.

Thank you for reading.

You did hit the nail properly by this point if being financially free. It sucks badly to keep the struggle without achieving some certain set goals. Especially those that can help keep us financially free.

It sucks a lot. Its even frustrating when it feels like you are stagnated.

Exactly. But we must keep pushing.

Enjoy your weekend 💕
